Love using this as an accessory to my red wines. The design is great and the size packs away into a cupboard or drawer. It’s easy to use as you just pour the wine through the top and let the quality of your wine strengthen.

This is probably the most common type of aerator you will find. You simply hold the aerator above your wine glass, and pour the wine into the aerator. As the wine passes through the aerator, the wine gets oxygenated and then pours into your glass. The wine taste is distinguishably different, more open more subtle... I can;t really explain, but it improves the wine taste. Advantages Extremely sturdy. These types of aerators are generally the strongest. This is made of thick acrylic and come in an oval shape that is unlikely to break during use. Great gift. In my opinion, this is probably the most aesthetically pleasing out there. As a result, they make a great gift for weddings, birthdays, or any other type of occasion. Disadvantages Extremely messy. Unfortunately these types of aerators are just plain messy. They don't attach to the bottle. Instead you hold them above your glass as you pour the wine through it. This leaves a lot of scope for error and splashing, and therefore often results in a mess.

Through life certain interests can become obsessions and wine is no different. From buying correctly shaped glassware, keeping the wine correctly etc. Eventually, you get to a point of diminishing returns, and this is where I was on the subject of wine aerators. After reading and listening to much about them I decided to go for it, a small outlay wasn't going to break the bank .... And you never know! It's a simple and somewhat rudimentary product that it is nicely made and packaged well. We conducted a blind test with the same bottle of wine, open it, pour one glass without giving the wine chance to breath and the second glass poured through the aerator. I was astonished at the difference in taste between two glass from the same "just opened" wine. Once established there was even a slight colour difference between them. The aerated wine was smoother, had more flavour and had a much richer bouquet. For the small outlay in cost, it punches well above it's weight in terms of what it brings out in a well known (to me) bottle of wine. In short, well worth the asking price.

Absolutely brilliant. I’ll be honest, I was dubious how much difference this would make but it genuinely does improve the taste and aroma of red wine. 100% recommend.

This gadget is like a magicians wand, adding extra value to a reasonably priced bottle of red. I think of it as getting you the taste of a more expensive wine simply by pouring through it's mysterious little whirlpool.
