Very comfortable to hold, extremely sharp
Overall I am very pleased with the quality of these tools, but less impressed with the canvas case.PROS: - The handles are long and feel solid, and they are large enough to fit pleasantly in the hand without excessive squeezing. - The blades are *extremely* sharp (as advertised) and the hand-sharpening is well worth the added cost. - Nice canvas bag with built-in ties and felt inner-liner to protect the blades.CONS: - No caps on the blades, and the bag's ties are simple ribbon instead of sewn canvas. - The blades are only set by glue, meaning they will eventually become lose with repeated use. - No strike-cap, so you must use a rubber mallet to avoid damaging the tool. - The bevel on the blade is a little bit too steep for my liking, so I have to hold the blade at about 7-10°, while I would prefer to hold my blades at only 4-5°.

Buy the "unsharpened" version of these and save some money
The tools themselves are .. fine. Good value. They don't look or feel like a $500 set, but they are not "cheapo" either. That said, you can buy this set 2 ways..ground, but not finish-sharpened OR you can pay extra for the "Professionally Hand-Sharpened" version which is what I got, because a 12-piece set is gonna take awhile to finish. BUT the "Professionally-sharpened" edges are ... OK, mostly. 1st, I compared them on a piece of wood to a couple of my freshly sharpened bench chisels. It wasn't close. My "amateur" sharpening was far superior to their "professional" version. More importantly, a few of the tools show multiple different bevels at random angles. Lastly, The "V" gouge is ground way off-center. And while 1 side looks OK, the other shows no less than 4 different bevels. (maybe they let the apprentice do that one) So I'm going to have to "amateur-sharpen" all these anyway. Look, if you are going to carve, you'll have to sharpen, so you may as well save a few bucks and buy the "unfinished" version of these.

Not professionally sharppened
They are sharp however they were not sharpened professionally I believe they are machine sharpened. That being said they are very sturdy and seem to be well made. I wouldn't spend the extra money for the professional sharpening though.

Very sharp for a factory grind
Sharper than expected. A minot polish will get them perfect. Handle could be a bit fatter. Overall pleased. The 'proper' way to sharper a veiner is very tricky and I wasn't expecting that. Its best to have a very fine needle -like point extending just forward of the body of the V. But like I said, very tricky/finicky to accomplish. Nice roll too, but I won't be using it.

Very very happy with my purchase, beginner woodworker here
These are awesome well made well packaged and for the first time in a long time I feel like the company that sells these cares about the end user. I’m new to woodworking and am very happy I took advice from an expert I watched a tutorial video he recommended this set. Thank you for a quality product!
