Most of the plans will have sen life as Plan of the Month in Railway Modellers from the 1950s onwards and some designs date back to the 1940s.The age of the publication shows in the chosen radius of curves.There is a lot of use made of 15" radius as the minimum radius be warned modern muddler 15" is likely to be too tight for your current models which prefer 438mm or 17.25" as a minimum.The drawings are more biased towards what might be achieved than what is possible.Drawn with a draughtsman's eye rather than the product of a modellers build be watchful that the track will line up some of the straight to curved alignments are not the smoothest.A few of the designs have had very long lives at the hands of generations of modellers.Minories being the most famous will provide a great deal of pleasure even when reduced to a small panel of track fed by a traverser.For the traditionalist this is a worthwhile tome for the modern modeller some serious thinking may be needed to build the plans suggested within the covers.

Bought these for my grandson, unfortunately the information provided only repeated what was already known to my 10 year old grand son.

This is only gives you basic and some very complicated plans ideas, and is generally thought provoking. It is good and gives you ideas of your own, but it will depend on the space available to build these track plans.

Bought as a gift. A little expensive after the recipient went onto the site himself and could have bought a new one.

Some good layouts but not much progression up in size - a few really small and limited ... jumping straight to significantly larger and more complex without reasonable steps between. The text is less informative than I had expected.

Not really what a was after still some people might like it

The book arrived on time and is interesting, but did not fit my specifications, as I have only 2 feet wide by 6 feet, and none of the plans were this small, would have been good had I had more space, obviously I can only use small guage like N or t guage, I shall keep looking for a suitable book.If you have the space then some of these layouts are good.
