So item is just like Mopar just hundreds cheaper… that being said, you have to file down some touch edges on the back… no big deal… and I ordered some new hinge bolts. The hex key button head bolts just don’t do it for me… can’t torque them down right and they started to rust… other then that.. GET IT!!

product is of good quality and much better value than other brands. install was the only tricky part. instructions are adequate but like most of every other product could be better.

JUNK!!!!!!!! This will not fit a 35” tire! What a waste of money and time. I can’t even get a refund or return this now.

The only thing that would have been better for us is if there was other holes to make the tire not sit so high. But other then that its a perfect fit.

My reason for purchasing the carrier is to counter stress due to additional loads and weight from a 2 bike carrier. After reviewing several Youtubers with Wrangler JL's running 37" tires without a reinforcement and seeing no stress cracks or skin buckling I wondered if it would be an unnecessary expense. However, reflecting on my experience when opening and closing the tailgate with a loaded carrier seemed dicey, I felt it would resist any oil can effect and add a rugged look at a reasonable price. A significant reinforcement IMO would address both the flex in the tailgate panel and hinge torque stress. The latter is addressed in a more expensive (4x to 8x ) and more involved installations (+1 to 2 hr) kit which replace the OEM hinges. This kit is a Mopar knockoff ( 1/4 price ) with good workmanship and design, with one major exception: Mopar's has metal brackets that completely span underneath the tire carrier. My final opinion I really like the black power coated aluminum and the piece of mind that come with the added reinforcement.

Instructions were horrible so be prepared to follow vague steps but it is all pretty self explanatory. Seems like a great product so far. Fits on the hinge perfectly all the bolts worked and didn’t strip out while installing. There was no damage to the product itself when it arrived and the packaging was perfect. Not too sure how it’ll increase the weight capacity of the hinges but hopefully will prevent warping. Took me about an hour to install just trying to figure out the instructions but you really just have to take the spare off then take the 8 bolts off the tire carrier then the bolts out of the tailgate and put the new hinge reinforcement on then everything else just goes right back on.
