I can't fit a tailgate mounted rack due to a spoiler and didn't want the expense of a towbar mount. I had the roofbars already and this does the job brilliantly. Just remember to take out the front quick release when not in use! Good value for money - very sturdy.

Value for the money... Holds the bike securely on the roof

I felt fairly at ease with this holding my large bike on the roof, but had to turn the fork holder around to the opposite side of the roof bar as it doesn't like bikes with disc brakes ..the pad assembly interfered with the forks block if mounted as per instructions.What I did see was the that the supplied quick release mechanism was alloy, and wore down on the first and only trip of 300miles. In other words, the quick release lever didn't hold the forks in tightly to the block any more, as alloy had been sheared away from the lever arm and reduced the grip on the forks. I removed the wheel's quick release assembly and used that instead with no further issues.This would be a better product in steel, the back wheel holder seemed a little flimsy, but for the occasional user like me it will do. Not sure it would like fat tyres though on the rear wheel holder.

For the price it's brilliant. I have two of these bike racks and never had a problem. I use them for my road bike and my mtb.

Could do with a couple more straps for peace of mind

Product pretty good the plastic rest can be easily broken though!
