Some have said this is a placebo well,if it is then...
..first,let`s deal with the delivery. Item arrived well within the time specified by amazon. The seller actually posted the product by recorded delivery so,try & make sure someone is in when amazon notifies you of a delivery date. Description: BG44K is described as a high strength(petrol)fuel cleaner, what the makers/sellers claim is that BG 44K Power Enhancer safely, rapidly and thoroughly removes engine deposits in combustion chambers, intake manifolds, ports and on valves. It restores flow in fuel injectors and cleans the entire fuel system. This is then said to,restore performance and economy degradation and, providing there are no underlying problems, your vehicle will perform as it did when it left the factory new.Inside your box your`ll find, one can of BG44K Fuel Enhancement System Cleaner 325ml &,a(card)funnel that`s it.The instructions on how to use are printed on the can of BG44K. In-Use/Performance: The card funnel is not very good so,you may need a longer plastic one to pour contents into your tank.My car is a Y reg BMW E46 325i with 66400ish on it now, there wasn`t anything(touch wood)wrong or really off with it but,it`s not due a service or a inspection(1or2)until next year summer,so I thought, hey, let`s give it something that "may" do some good.BG44K was poured on top of half a tank of fuel then,I put another quarter in to make three quarters of a tank as per instructions. This mix of BBG44K & petrol was in the car for nearly two weeks or about 180miles,I`ve read, the longer it`s in your tank, the better,so try & use it for a few weeks,& don`t do to many miles, too quickly. This would allow the stuff to sit & disovle deposits after the engine is shut off & then,do its job. Then when you start the car,it would go through the system. **NOTE** The fuel that I use in the car is 99 octane, when I used BG44K,I have been using 99 octane for a good few months. Now this super unleaded fuel is stated to have better cleaning additives in it which, makes the car`s engine burn richer/better or something but,I was already experiencing better performance with this type of fuel before,I used BG44K so,will it work?!?! I also took time to read a lot of customer views/opinions on the net prior to buying BG44K.It seems like nearly everyone that has used BG44K or BG244(diesel version)has had good or excellent results. Some have stated that this is merely a placebo, the fact that you know that you`ve got an enhancement, you then "imaging" that there is an improvement.Well if this is true of BG44K,then I want a "placebo" for most things in my life because,I can confirm that there "Most defiantly IS,a Performance Improvement"! I can`t say if it`s as the makers/sellers claim like;cleaner pistons without any deposits or anything as this requires you to,fiddle with engine parts to check and I did not do any of this. But what I can say is that;the car accelerates quicker, smoother & better even, just normal or faster driving, the car is so smooth. There wasn`t an issue with exhaust emissions(m.o.t.in April 12)but,there is a noticeable change. If BG44K doesn`t do any harm to the car,I can "only assume" it has & will continue to perform as stated, like cleaning the injection system(which is not really done in a normal service,as far as I know). Conclusion: For a penny less than a score(twenty english pounds),this stuff seems to do most things stated. Now that I`ve reached a fuel level where I was going to add more fuel to the car(quarter or less with BG44K left in the tank),I`ll see if the performance remains the same standard,as with un-treated(super unleaded)fuel in it,this will be the real test of the quality for this item.Concerning mpg,I`m up by 2mpg so far but, this could be due to driving style,we`ll see. So,if YOU want to give your engine the cheapest(& possibly)the best service you can,get yourself a can of BG44K now. Five Stars, highly recommended. P.S.I`ll up-date this review in the near future & let you know how things are. Thank You For Reading. Update:05.07.12. First Update. Hi everyone(yes, that DOES include you Jennifer Baker!)here`s the 1st update of BG44K.In my review I stated that I was up by 2mpg,I must apologise,I was wrong.I was getting below 22.1mpg which is what you`ll find stated for my vehicle(325i E46 01)on places like Auto Trader, after using BG44K I`m now getting 24.3-24.5mpg with fairly hard driving, the car does not go under 24.3mpg & this is all town driving so far! All of the above comments by me remain the same at the moment,I have just bought two other products by BG,these are BG MOA oil additive & BG MI3000 which is a diluted/weaker version of BG44K,I`ll post a review of MI3000 on here a.s.a.p. Update:05.08.13. As stated above there is now currently a,comprehensive review of MI3000 with a (used the product, finally)update. BG MI3000 is the product to use AFTER you`ve used BG44K so,please have a read. One more thing,I also use BG MOA which,is also very good, this is taken from BG Products own site...."BGMOA prevents oxidation and thickening of engine oil under even the most severe stop-and-go, high temperature driving conditions. It fortifies all qualities of engine oil to provide superior long-lasting engine protection and helps maintain optimum engine performance".Just thought I`d add this as,I can`t see anywhere else here to write about MOA. If your interested, please go to BG`s site to find out more, happy motoring ladies & gents. Update:05.08.14. I`ve just(about 2wks ago)used 44K for the second time, the reason was because my mpg was worse than what I`d been experiencing sinced I used MI3000. My mpg had fallen to about 22-22.5 now, this is about what`s stated for the vehicle(BMW e46 325i)for town driving but,I was getting a better return from using the BG products. So after my recent use of BG44K,I`m now getting 24.5 mpg,& this is with a fairly heavy right foot....still five stars, thanks for reading & good luck! Update:26.05.15. Had my car m.o.t`d it passed with no problems funny thing is,gezzer at the garage mentioned this "excellent" treatment I should use in the car, since I seem to take good care of it(his words, not mine!).He was harping on about how wonderful this treatment is & that he was sent on a seminar by his old employers(kw*k f*t)& was shown a demo on the product that was a night & day difference in cleanliness of the engine.A can was handed to all to use in their own vehicles for 12 months, according to him 98% of those users were converted/convinced of it`s claims...that product was "BG44K".

It really does work. No exageration. BG44k is like witchcraft.
Do not waste time effort and money on other products claiming to do the same. I tried several as they were less than half the price but they had no noticeable effect. My old classic Audi Cabriolet has a notoriously problematic fuel injection and ignition system that worked perfectly when new but gradually degrades over time. Unlike modern vehicles the system is not capable of adjusting itself to compensate and maintain a smooth reliable engine. So, I had a car that drank fuel, belched smoke, lacked power and would not rev past 4000 rpm. It would not pass a roadworthiness test. After 1 treatment with BG44k the car came to life. MPG improved, smoothness improved and it would rev to 5000 rpm. It actually passed the MOT test. A second treatment about 1000miles later yielded even more improvement, The engine now revs all the way up to its limiter. MPG is almost 50% better, gone from 21 to 30mpg. It isn't perfect and still lacks a bit of power but BG44k can't repair or replace worn out components. What it has done is enable what's there to work as well as it can. I was so impressed that I gave my thumping great Audi S8 a treatment. I was not aware of any issues. The car ran fine. After the treatment the S8 felt noticeably quicker, idled so smooth you couldn't feel the engine running and I actually get average mpg in the 40s, from a 4.2ltr v8 super saloon. This BG44k is amazing stuff and I can't recommend it enough.

cleaning and performance
I bought this product following reviews. I have a Golf GTI about 10 years old and 56K - full service history and only recently had a complete service (the lot) including fuel filter/pollen/air/plugs/cam belt/water pump/oil (synthetic), gear box checked and topped, all fluids really, new tyres and tracking. I look after my car and it is never abused. Anyway, i mainly drive around town and decided that it would be beneficial to also clean the engine via fuel. The emissions on my car are fine and recently passed the mot easily. Anyway, shortly after servicing, i had a sensor engine warning light. Golf owners will be familiar with this Cat sensor. They often come on even when the cat is operating at 95% efficiency. It is a nuisance. So, i got a cat cleaner fluid. it worked for a day or so. Seeing these reviews, i decided to buy this product. I reset the sensor warning lamp and put this in the tank. i use premium fuel where possible. my car was returning about 21 to 22 mpg around town - stopping and starting. once the enhancer had got to work. the sensor started behaving itself. the engine running was good anyway and there is no real difference in that however the mpg improved to (variable) 30 to 33 mpg depending on my right foot. Now, the servicing would have helped and my perhaps lighter foot, however, that is quite a jump nonetheless. i have never had those figures since ownership. So, it seems to have done something. it certainly put an end to the Cat sensor light and so must have cleaned the catalytic converter well enough as well. Seems a good product. i didn't get a cardboard funnel but had a plastic one anyway. i put it in about half a tank and then topped the tank up soon after. i will now try the second stage product as recommended by another reviewer.

Definately makes a difference.
My vehicle details: Ford Mondeo 1.8 LX MK3 on a 53 plate. 1.8 Duratec petrol engine. My car failed the MOT on emissions. The mechanic explained the 1.8 Duratec engine is prone to burning oil and said a fuel system cleaner may help get it through a re-test. Wanting to give it the best chance I decided to buy something better than the typical cleaner you find in petrol stations, so after reading about this on a forum thread regarding TerraClean and with it's good Amazon customer reviews I decided to give this a try. I added it to half a tank of petrol, and as others have said it is difficult with this style of container. My car has a sprung loaded flap towards the top of the filler so I was able to use a metal funnel. On some cars you may need to use a long reach funnel or maybe attach a length of pipe to a funnel. The disposable funnel supplied is next to useless to be honest. I drove the car for around a week and a half and then did an engine flush and oil change and also used a tin of EGR cleaner. Taking the car back for a re-test the car failed again initially but with a bit of patience and trying this and that, the mechanic managed to just squeeze it through. You may be asking why I have given it 5 stars if the mechanic had to try hard to get it through the MOT. This product claims to clean the fuel system and help to remove carbon build up, it does not claim to help get cars with smoky engines through the MOT. After using this product I have noticed the car is a lot smoother, it responds better on acceleration and better still my MPG has increased by around 3 MPG on local journeys. I have noticed a difference after using this product, which I have never done before after using other fuel system cleaners. If you are looking at this because your car has failed the MOT on emissions than it may help. I have read reviews by others who say it helped get their car through the MOT after it failing on emissions and apparently BG44K needs around 4 weeks to work properly so I may not have given it long enough. If you are looking at it because your car is not as responsive as it was and / or the MPG is not as good as it was, definitely try this. I will be changing my car before the next MOT and I will be using this this and then every 6 months I'll be using BG MI3000 to keep my replacement car running smooth.

Mehh
Really didn't notice any difference what so ever. Also i was sent the platinum version not the one that's listed. From the hype surrounding the product I was expecting to feel/notice some sort of difference but unfortunately not, Either the engine is already clean as a whistle or bg44k isn't as amazing as it is made out to be and I honestly don't think it's because the engine is in tip top condition as I don't over maintain it at all, The car is 3litre straight 6 turbo and is stage 2 mapped with a few (correctly chosen) bolt on performance upgrades and a decat pipe so isn't held back by restrictive components, I got the bg44k hoping it would smooth out the idle and give a slight increase in throttle response like the hype says it can.

Does what it says on the tin
I simply cant rate this product highly enough, if you have a diesel and only drive short journeys then don't hesitate to buy this, it will save you ££££'s. I had a Saab 93 and went from driving long motorway journeys to work, to just driving a 3 mile commute each day, within a year my car was suffering, constant hesitation, smoke, no acceleration, juddering when idling etc. I took my car to local garages, I spent over £1500 on replacement DPF, Turbo (turbo was free because the DPF did not fix the problem), EGR valve and various other parts, all making no difference and the garages seemed to be unable to figure out the problem despite having the car for a week. When I bought the BG44K I used it straight away, I only had a gallon of fuel left in the tank but I used half the tin of BG 44K, which is far more than recommended. Within a mile of driving the car I got stuck in traffic at a roundabout, suddenly the revs went high for no reason and clouds of thick smoke engulfed the car, I thought the car was going to break down. As soon as the traffic started moving I did a u-turn, the revs kept going high and smoke pouring out of the exhaust and sudden bursts of acceleration. Then I released the car was accelerating, I put my foot down on the accelerator and the car went, like when I first bought it, it was actually driving fast, it was responsive, something it had not done for many months.... I realised all the smoke was the BG44K cleaning out the engine, the smoke continued and upon refueling I used the remainder of the BG44K, I then bought another tin and used it on another full tank of diesel. All the problems disappeared, all that money spent on needless repairs and it could have been done with just a couple of tins of BG44K. when buying a used car, this is now the product I by on day one and recommend it to anyone that cares to listen...I also now use premium fuel, despite all the urban myths about it making no difference, it does, so if you have diesel and use supermarket fuel, through in a tin of BG44K along with your next service.

Great Product, Great Results
I have used this for 14 years on my MR2 MK3 which I bought from new and tbh the BHP seems to be still as it should be and I put it down to a great engine and BG 44K. I generally use it the month before I get the car serviced and oil changed simply in my head I think anything it has cleaned out in the engine gets flushed away with an oil change but I don't think its necessary to do it that way I just prefer it and haven't read anything to recommend doing it either way.
