Why does it says suitable for vegetarian thou it contains cochineal

This is not suitable for vegetarians, and the product information also states “not suitable for vegetarians”.

Looking to make red butter cream. Will this work or will I end up with pink watery buttercream?

This would work to colour your buttercream to a red but would suggest using the Berry Red PME Concentrated Colour Paste, you only need a little to make a strong colour and it will not change the consistency oh your buttercream. It contains cochineal. I only used it for craft but suggest something like beetroot powder if you want something totally vegetarian/ vegan
