worth the wait
I ordered this at the end of May and the order and delivery were cancelled several times because of Covid. After this happened the 3rd or 4th time and I did not seem to be getting to the top of the order priority I wrote to complain - in fact I had ordered the matching bedside tables a few years ago and in the mean time my existing chest of drawers (a different brand and design) fell apart.it finally arrived three months after the original order but it is an excellent product. My experience putting together the previous products was helpful but the instructions were very helpful - specific holes for specific screws ( eg drawer fixings) was clearly marked. I put it together over several days in stages but it was very manageable. An attractive, well put together, well engineered product. I discovered a split on the top when almost complete, it looks a loose piece has fallen away along the grain but I am planning to wax and hopefully it will not show.

Fraud - pure and simple
This product's marketing is a big, fat lie.Click on the whizzy 360 degree graphic. It'll show you a solidly-built pine unit, uniform wood front and back. There's even a cute little knot running from side into back panel, saying 'look at me, I'm made of wood!'.The real unit has a flimsy cardboard back (as incidentally do the drawers).Yes we live in an information-saturated age, and mistakes happen. And yes, furniture at this price point cuts necessary corners. But this cannot be seen as anything other than sheer fraud.Their deceptive '360' model was either made especially for the occasion, or more probably cooked up in a visual FX suite. It's my duty to call this out. And if Steens have the guts to reply, I'd be grateful.

For the price, this is excellent.
It took about four hours to assemble, and is quite fiddly, and you're well advised to glue anything that can be glued. We used a rubber mallet in places, and you need a good screwdriver. But it's solid, the drawers open and close smoothly, it feels secure and stable, and it looks great. The first one we got had a warped panel, but returns were prompt and easy, and the end result is really quite handsome. Very pleased with it. There've been mixed reviews of this, but my experience is that it's good quality and worth the time it takes to assemble. Excellent.Postscript: I said returns were prompt and easy, but it's just been returned back to me again and I've had to spend two hours talking to amazon customer services (who are excellent) to get the damn thing returned again. I won't be doing any more business with these people, it's just too much hassle.

Great Product for a nice Affordable price
I have some other drawers like this but they are bigger (5+2) and have more depth and the two bedside 3 drawer cabinets (which are great). I have had them a while and they have moved a couple of times so they have taken some stick and they are still standing and looking good (and still doing what they are meant to)!! This set have a little less depth but I am happy with them. I took my time putting them together and I am not sure about the glue as there has never been any in the ones I have received as they use those screw things with the little metal nobs you turn to hold them in (no doubt someone will know the proper name for these but I don't have a clue) :). If they are as good as the others I have though I know they will last me quite some time as I am not planning on any more moves. I would recommend these as the price is great and as long as you have a reasonable amount of common sense and patience they are pretty easy to put together. All in all I am very happy with my purchase and if this changes and anything falls apart I will add comment to this effect (if I am able). Not sure exactly what has gone wrong with the product others have received to get such poor reviews?!!!

Looks great, as if it's very solid
Pros:Looks great, as if it's very solid.Part of the Richmond range, so you can match your furnitureCons:Bases of drawers are very flimsy - they need strengtheningBack of chest is cheap plyboard, again fairly flimsyInstructions not very helpfulIncluded glue not strong enoughTo avoid these drawers falling apart, I recommend supplying your own impact glue (a lot of it) and be prepared to strengthen the drawers so that the front facials don't just pull off (they are only glued on). If you can accept this, the end result looks good.

Budget price with quality results
**edit 2019**These are still standing and used daily and been through a house move too. Excellent quality and standing the test of time 5 years on!**I must admit I didn't read other peoples' reviews before buying these drawers. And I'm glad I didn't.Yes, the instructions are not fabulous, but using some common sense and taking your time, these are a pretty good set of drawers for the money.the only problems I really encountered were my own failings of being able to put screws in straight, but this was nothing to do with the product itself.Half way through assembly, I had a look at the reviews and the only thing that I found was constructive, was to use an alternative glue to the one provided. I made sure that there was plenty wood glue where required to make sure of a decent hold.I now have filled the drawers and everything is staying in place as it should and it is pretty solid. In my opinion of building flat pack (which is my little obsession), the kit is pretty solid and sturdy. You could go to other shops and pay a lot more for what would turn out to be particle board and be a nightmare to put up and would look cheap and tacky, but this is proper wood and fits in with other pine units that I already have.

They don't last!
On average these take an hour or so to put together.I bought a number of these (or HD them gifted to me). Originally I gave a 4 star review, but 2 years later the drawers are very literally just falling off, leaving hundreds of tiny metal beads everywhere from god knows where. They weren't perfect to start with but cheap and simple. Now I have 4 chests of drawers to replace almost simultaneously.I am not pleased.
