blessed relief - update after 12 months
update - far simpler to make a wedge to step on and stretch your calf muscles BEFORE you walk during the night or in the morning. I made one from discarded shelves at 15/18 degrees. Toes atop the slope and heel at the base and you will not suffer from plantar fasciitis again - just keep it beside the bed where you first step and spend 10-20 seconds stretching out the tendons and muscles behind the leg - Ive told my friends who suffered and this really is the answer!I have to admit this is someone else's review that completely sums up my experience!....."I have suffered for the past 4 months with Plantar Fasciitis in my left foot. I was fairly sceptical re the effect this night split would have on my foot. I can hand on heart say it has made such a difference. I find I am waking in the middle of the night as it is uncomfortable if you turn over....but I persevered a few nights and my foot is so much easier...not the awful pain when you first put your foot down in the mornings. I love this so much so that I have it on my foot when I lie on sofa and it does help....so not just at nights...if I am sitting at the table just sit my foot into it. I drove in an automatic car for 5 hours yesterday (so didn't need to use my left foot) so I put on the night splint and it helped so much - the vibration which used to irritate my foot disappeared...and I am not in agony today which I would have been without it. 5 easily earned stars. Thank you...Please note it hasn't cured my foot but it is so much easier I could cry with happiness."

Effective but lacks comfort
The boot has provided a good degree of relief but as a night splint it is not the most comfortable for a side sleeper as it is made of plastic. That said it is robust and simple to adjust and is good value for money. Would recommend.

Simple, effective remedy for Achilles tendonitis/plantar fascitis.
Months of constant heel pain. resolved in a matter of days. I tried supports, elastic bandages, ice baths, anything. Did some research into Achilles tendonitis, this splint was recommended - and it worked. Been wearing it for several hours each evening, and it has made a significant improvement already. Easy to use, just ensure your heel is all the way into the cup, then adjust the straps so your lower leg and foot are totally imobilised - do not tighten to discomfort, just enough to stop movement. Ensure the toe pad is then inserted all the way, and that's it. It is not uncomfortable, it is not cumbersome or heavy - but don't even think about walking in it! It is NOT designed to walk in, it holds your foot at an angle to your leg, extending the Achilles tendon - you cannot walk like this. Sure, you could try, but you are doing yourself no favours at all, and could easily fall. It is NOT suitable for outdoors, and the instructions have several clear warnings to that effect. If you have Achilles tendonitis or plantar fasciitis, this is definitely worth trying. Don't expect an overnight fix, it takes patience, possibly weeks or even more, but it really helps.

Hard to sleep
Very awkward in bed and after 5 nights gave up as there was no improvement. In the end got some scholl orthotics which have helped.

Best £12 I ever spent.
I developed Plantar Fasciitis recently, I think due to inactivity ( lockdown ) and wearing the wrong type of footwear whilst on a job ( CAT boots ) and I was on my feet all day. I was advised to get one of these types of boot, so I ordered this one, and I have got to say, it has been the best £12 I ever spent.Don't get me wrong, it did not fix me overnight, but even after the first night wearing it, I noticed a marked improvement. You will need to persevere with it, and like others have said it's not very comfortable for the first week or so, and finding the right settings for the straps etc is trial and error. However, if you keep at it the results are well worth it.What I found was best for me was to adjust the straps until they were tight to the foot / ankle/ leg, and then back the straps off by about 1-2cm. Also, start out by removing the white wedge at the front completely for the first week or so, and gradually introduce it, pushing it further down the foot over time. It does take some getting used to, but it is soooooo worth it for the relief I have now.You might find the buckle nearest to the ankle does rest up against the ankle and is uncomfortable, I stuck a bit of foam to the buckle, and that sorted that out.My one AND ONLY gripe is that the stitching on the padding is pretty poor, and started to come apart quite easily, but I just stitched it back again. The solution is not to be too aggressive when pulling at the Velcro, just take a bit of care with it.My other tip is to buy yourself some kind of flip flop / Sliders / Birkenstock's so that when you get out of bed in the morning you are not just putting your foot straight down on the floor and undoing the repair that was done overnight with the boot.Anyway, I hope this helps and you find the relief that I have.

It works. Velcro straps need improvement though .
Took a few nights to get used to it so would take it of half way through night .but after persevering o now don't notice it at all whilst sleeping. It does help in the morning and the plantar certainly feels like it's getting a bit better along with all the constant exercises I'm doing .My one issue with it is the velcro straps don't have enough velcro to pull the straps too tight but other than that it's great
