The holder will happily hold an iPhone 6 for hands free calling and navigational use. With regards to holding it for the purpose of recording your journey, it may do with the supports in the most upright angle. However, it was not deigned for this purpose and you may find the camera shake will reduce the video quality.

Is this safe to use with a Z fold 2

The Z Fold 2 has not been tested by us at this time. The phone holder was designed to be universal but this type of folded phone was not considered during design. Folded open it would fit the supports with the Z fold 2 being 6.9mm in thickness. Folded it would be too thick for the supports at 16.8mm.

I have a jeep cherokee 2015 can I use this?

would it be possible to trim the width down?

You could trim off about half an inch from each end but why? it would spoil the look of the pad, it is designed to fit onto the dash of the car and there should be plenty of room on a car dash.
