The holes that the food falls out of is too small to dispense cereal or pasta. Maybe if you're using fruity peebles or cheerios it would probably work but for larger cereals like cinnamon toast crunch it'll just get stuck. It's difficult to put foods into each slot without it accidentally getting into another slot. So far the only foods I've been able to use this for successfully is rice, sugar, and flour. Sometimes the buttons get stuck and you have to force them out.
