Pure escapism
Starting the second of the Winemakers trilogy, when into week three of a diet to lose weight gained in lockdown, probably wasn’t a good idea, but it was a very comforting read. My mouth watered continually because of the food consumed by the characters ........ that’s really not a bad thing by the way ....... and that is one of the joys of all Laura’s books. I’m also looking forward to receiving Laura’s co-written French cook book, Bisous and Brioche, when it’s released, but that’s another story. This book is a comforting escapist blanket, given all the troubles in the world at the moment. Yes, of course I knew all along that it would end happily, but it’s the journey that counts, with all the speed bumps and stop signs along the way. The characters are well written, although I did want to shake one or two of them every so often!I was transported to the vineyards of Burgundy, learning snippets about wine and its manufacture while I read. Books in which the author knows his or her subject and is able to express love for that subject is so satisfying and she knows her stuff! If you want a love story that will help blindfold you from life for a few hours, read this. You won’t be sorry.

A delightful romp through the vines
Laura Bradbury never fails to bring a smile to my face with her delightful descriptions of her beloved vineyards and characters who fall in love whilst experiencing the best that this region of Eastern France has to offer. Her way of developing her characters ensures the reader is constantly wondering how they will progress ensuring a great read and a guarantee that one will gallop through the book at a record pace. As the second in the trilogy and for those who have followed her 'Grape' series its fun to catch up with previous characters who have grown up and had their own families thus continuing the wine stories in the area. I'm now avidly looking forward to the imminent release of book three in this trilogy.

A page turner to the end
Each page draws you further in to the lives of the characters until you feel they are your friends. At times I wanted to shake Luc and Sadie, I laughed and shed a tear, whilst also gaining an insight into Burgundian wine culture and heritage. The end came far too quick, I could have stayed with them for much longer. Cannot wait for the final book in this trilogy.

a good old fashioned love story
Laura Bradbury loves a love story... Be it her now famous Grape Series or 2 books in to the winemakers trilogy. She also gives her readers a bit of a tour of the Burgundian wine region.Enjoy!

French Fancies
Another good book from Laura Bradbury. Just the sort of thing to read during a pandemic, escape to Burgundy with romance, good food and wine. Nearly as good as being there.
