love it....
So, this is my first official product review on amazon... I think this thing is awesome. we live in a 2 br apt. This works as advertised. Reduces the loudness/feeling of the "thump" from the bass drum pretty significantly without compromising the "sound" of the thump. Don't get me wrong, the bass drum is still felt and heard and is still pretty loud... just at a fairly reduced level. If i were sitting in the living room, the drumset is in an adjacent bedroom. When played, its felt and heard, but I can still watch tv... turned up mind you... to my ears, the sound coming from the bass drum still sounds, well, like a bass drum... waaayyyy better sound reproduction than any drum mute for the snare, toms, and especially the cymbals when practiced/played together. As for longevity... my 9 yr old is the one that uses it on her Premier drumset (which is super awesome and I'll eventually review that set bought from here). Now she obviously does not have have a lead foot, so I'm pretty sure this will stand up for a long time. Now when I play her set, I consciously try not to smash the bass drum pedal... if a heavy footed person were to use this, I can see this product not lasting that long... for my daughter, it works great. I'm sure the neighbors appreciate her using it than her not using one. As for the striking of the pad with the beater feeling... you definitely know your hitting something other than the drum head. Doesn't bother me... doesn't bother my daughter. .. we don't really notice at all... she could still play fairly fast with a single pedal... can she play faster without the pad? Possibly... haven't realll tried to test that out... shes not playing death metal or anything like that, so not a huge issue here, anyways. will it bother some... I'm sure there are purist who will not like the feel of it... it all comes down to which of the lesser of the 2 evils one can live with. We think it's an easy trade off... Installation is easy and straight forward. Unpacking, installing, to playing took probably at the most 5 min... adjusting it to absolute perfect placement took maybe another couple minutes... simple and easy. .. how can you not like that... If this thing broke down, I wouldn't hesitate to buy it again if I still lived in an apt. So again, reduces overall sound without compromising the actual "sound". My daughter can still easily be felt /heard laying down the backbeat with my other daughter playing along with her bass... which means the bass guitar amp volume can be turned down as well. There are other bass drum mutes that work equally well if not better... however, my daughter's bass drum is only 16" in diameter... this product is the only player in town... unless one modifies a different drum mute for a 16 " tom and modifies it to for a 16" bass drum. I love this thing... originally my daughter was using a roland electronic drumset with mesh heads at my apt and an acoustic set at her mom's. Obvioulsy the roland was waaaaaayyyyyy quieter. As much as i loved the electronic kit, When she started telling her music teacher that she preferred the electronic set "feel", I said enough of that and bought the Premier APK microbop set to keep her on the "acoustic" path. And this product at least helps to try to quiet it down... So buy it if you have a light foot for your or for the kids... if you're heavy footed... this may not last... for us, it works great... YMMV... have a great day...

Evans Soundoff Drum Mute Pads
The Evans Soundoff Drum Mute Pads are a must-have for drummers needing to practice quietly. These pads significantly reduce the volume of my acoustic drum set without completely killing the tone or feel. The pads fit snugly on my snare, toms, bass drum, and cymbals, providing a great balance of muting while preserving the basic sound and feel of the drums. Key Features: Sound Reduction: Dramatically lowers volume while keeping the essential tone. Fit: Custom fit for all drum sizes, snug without slipping. Feel: Great rebound for practice, similar to acoustic drums, though slightly reduced. Durability: High-quality rubber that lasts and resists wear. Pros: Excellent volume control, perfect for quiet practice. Realistic feel for stick and pedal response. Durable and long-lasting. Cons: Slightly reduced rebound compared to acoustic drums. Cymbal pads don’t replicate the full feel of real cymbals. Conclusion: For drummers needing a quiet practice solution, the Evans Soundoff Mute Pads deliver excellent performance and durability. They allow for a realistic practice experience while significantly lowering the volume—ideal for apartments or shared spaces. Highly recommended!

It works but it moves too much
I use to on a 14” low volume hi hat upper for my E Kit and it is just slightly louder than the rubbery plastic piece of crap the kit came with. The cymbal would be louder without this but with it, it sounds like any other e cymbal tapping away. So it does keep the cymbal quieter. The only way to have complete silence is to just not play at all. It also seems to be a very durable material that can take a beating for a while unlike other foam mutes you can stick on. The downside. It moves around quite a bit. I had mentioned I use it on a low volume triggered moving hi hat for my e kit so there is no lower hat. I have tightened the daylights out of the clutch to keep the upper hat from spinning when playing so as not to end up yanking out my trigger wire. However, the mute pad itself moves around when playing and needs to be readjusted after each song played. It’s slightly big so it does not fit my hat snug. To keep it from moving I had to install four tiny screws through the the low volume holes of the hat and through drilled holes of the mute pad to effectively screw the mute pad to the hat, of course with the screw heads on top of the mute pad and towards the edge away from my playing area and with the nuts installed underneath the hat. Since I only play on one side of the hi hat, I installed the screws in the four outer corners of the non playing half (out of my way of my sticks). If the non playing side won’t move, neither will the side I play on. I used a Dremel with a cut off wheel to cut off the excess screw length for looks (they didn’t effect the hi hat control). So overall, it’s a nice and durable piece of material, keeps the cymbal muted to a tap that’s just as loud as the other e cymbals, but it is loose on the hi hat so it likes to move around and needed to be screwed down. Good thing this isn’t a nice hi hat, it’s just an e kit. But it is better than the stick on foam crap and I expect it to last quite a while. Next I’ll try rubber tips on my sticks to help keep the noise down.

Does exactly what it is supposed to!
Great pad to keep the volume down on the hi hat. I had another brand hi hat pad and it sucked, so i bought this one and i love it. It grips onto the edges of the cymbal so it stays in place while playing. Part of the lip curves to the inside of the hi hats so if you use your foot pedal to crash it, that is muted as well. I live in an apartment w single paned windows so i use it on low volume cymbals to keep it almost completely silent, have not received any complaints yet. I highly recommend.

Absolute Kaufempfehlung!!!
