Silverline 909353 Security Bit Set 33pce 25 mm

Very compact. It looked identical to a good quality set I bought from a Maplin maybe fifteen years ago. They were more expensive and well made. I needed another set for another tool case for convenience and thought at the price it was worth buying. But the case is unpleasant and nowhere near as solid and well-fitting as my previous one. It will do as backup and was certainly value for money but the holes in the security which have centre holes are not centred in many instances. Some are so far out that it may be that they won't work in some screws. So if you need these as the only set you have and they are important, or if you need them as a set for frequent use, I would not myself buy them again. But as a good value for money convenient occasional use set, they work for me! I have bought other Silverline tools and bits, some of which are disappointing and some exceed the negative reviews I've seen and turn out to be excellent value and yet also well made for the purpose. I'll still buy Silverline but ALWAYS with caution and never for really important tools. Good all-rounders for DIY at a basic level where spending serious money could wasted for the odd job around the house.

I've had an identical set to this for many years, purchased this owing to a Black Friday discount. The bits are of excellent quality and are provided in a 2-part rubber storage case; a neat idea that keeps everything well organised while maintaining compact dimensions so as to not take up too much space in a tool box. This is a great set for those times where you need the odd specialised bit, and the bits themselves are of decent quality. A bit holder is included too which is a nice bonus.

Having been presented with my wife's hairdryer complete with a fractured power cable where it entered the handle, I set to work dismantling the dryer only to find that the dreaded 'security' screws had been used. This Silverline Security Bit Set included the very bit that I needed so I placed the order and received the set within two days. Sure enough the required bit did the trick and the hairdryer was returned to normal service.I would imagine that I will be unlikely to use most of the bits in the set but at this price it hardly matters, and I have the re-assurance of having them handy just in case.The quality seems good although I did notice that some of the bits (those with a drilled center hole) were not particularly well centred so the hole is offset. This may well prevent them from seating into the heads of any bolts with a raised centre section.Apart from that minor point the set is sufficiently comprehensive to cover most, if not all, likely situations and is an absolute bargain at the price.

This is a really good little set of bits for taking apart items. It's good that it comes with a bit holder too, you can never have enough. Don't make the mistake that I did though in that the screw I wanted to undo was set quite far into the product and the bit wasn't long enough to each it.

I found that one of the flat-heads (CR-V 6) was malformed, with the notch off to one side. As such, there was a large bit of fork and a small one and so likely to snap off.Having a closer look I saw that many of the other bits were made with their holes off-centered. I'm not sure how the off-centered holes will affect usage though.The other flat head bits were fine and the bits that are vaguely Philips-like (broken cross, or 3 bladed) all seem fine.

For the money you can't complain, if you were going to be using them every day you would want to buy a better quality set but if like me your likely to use them once a year (or decade) to remove one or two screws then they are more than fit for the job.

the holes on the torque bits are not in the center and some are not round you are better sticking your money down the stank

Such poor quality manufacturing that the bit I needed was unusable as the hole was so far off centre that it didn’t fit the head of the bolt!
