A tremendous little boxset of some classic Clint Eastwood movies with High plains drifter & Two mules for sister Sara topping the bill.With Coogans bluff & The Eiger sanction coming in 2nd..The remaining 4 i haven't seen in a while so I've still got to enjoy

Good value for money

It really frustrate me when i read a review of blu ray films but the reviewer doesn't mention anything about the quality of the transfer/s. Anyway, i held off from buying this because it was cheap (£18) and because I really wasn't sure what the transfers would like considering I have some of these films on dvd and they look pretty awful. Happily, the transfers turned out to be excellent, a real upgrade on the dvd versions, with High Plains Drifter looking especially good. If you love these Clint films do yourself a favour and buy this excellent box set.

Really good set of early Clint Eastwood films. it's also a nice set of 70s movies when a director could experiment a bit more than today. It includes Play Misty for Me a great Eastwood film, Breezy, which I think may be Eastwood's second directorial effort, and is a nice "Spring and Autumn" movie, starring William Holding, Eastwood isn't acting in it. The Eiger Sanction which is a big budget, but a bit crazy action movie. The Beguiled, which considering that it is directed by Don Siegal [Dirty Harry, Escape from Alcatraz and a longtime Eastwood collaborator] and starring Eastwood is a very strange movie indeed. "Two Mules for Sister Sarah" with Shirley McClaine, again directed by Don Siegal, and the brilliant "High Plains Drifter" all for a great price. Each movie is available for about £5 each, and there are 4 or 5 gems here [for me 'Misty' 'High Plains' 'Beguiled' 'Coogan's Bluff', most people won't have seen Breezy and I'd include that as a little gem, definitely worth a look. The transfers are good, but be aware these are not "Special Editions", so the best extra you might get is a trailer.

An inexpensive boxset, especially when bought when on offer. An interesting and somewhat eclectic collection of Clint’s Universal films from 1967-1975. The standout films, in my opinion, are ‘Play Misty For Me’, ‘High Plains Drifter’ and ‘The Beguiled’ Spoiler alert 🚨 You’ll think twice about eating mushrooms for a while after watching! ‘Two Mules For Sister Sara’ is a pseudo Spaghetti Western that doesn’t really compare too favourably with Clint’s trio of Sergio Leone classics. ‘The Eiger Sanction’ is a serviceable 70s thriller with some superbly shot mountain climbing sequences. ‘Joe Kidd’ & ‘Coogan’s Bluff’ are watchable but well short of essential viewing. I’m not a fan of ‘Breezy’ an early directing assignment for Clint. Overall it’s a mixed bag of films but if you can get it on offer it’s well worth it.

Great selection of some of Big Clint's films here.I purchased this particular box set for two primary reasons: 1. this box set included The Beguiled, The Eiger Sanction, Play Misty for Me, and Breezy; and, 2. the price dropped to a reasonably acceptable level.I already have Clint's dollars film collection which is probably my favourite set of his work, but I have always thought The Beguiled was an excellent film in it's own right. Now, The Eiger Sanction is like a parable of 1970's film making - pretty questionable performances from everyone (including Clint), a pretty daft premise and plot lines, and none too hot production values either. Having said all this, I just love it! I have no idea why I like it so much, I just do!So, all in all, a very nice box set of eight films in total, and you could do a lot worse believe me.Recommended.

A great set of Clint Eastwood movies, in a solidly produced box set. These are mostly very well know like "High Plains Drifter" and "Coogans Bluff", but "Breezy" I had never seen before. What you can say is that these all capture Eastwood in his prime in the 60s and 70s. So the sardonic quotes are all in place, with perhaps my favourite coming from Coogans Bluff."All right now, I don't like violence, Mr. Wonderful whatever your name is. You better drop that blade, or you won't believe what happens next, even while it's happening."The quality of the transfers that I have watched (the vast majority) is very good and the blurays are a considerable improvement on the DVDs I already owned.Eight movies for twenty pounds at the time of writing. Bargain!
