Meridian Org Barley Malt Extract 370g

Absolutely yummy, my mum gave me a spoonful every day when I was a child & I can’t remember having colds, now in my 70’s fed up picking colds up so thought I’d try this again, tastes just like I remember

I bought Meridian malt extract to make some malt loaves prior to Christmas firstly because my recipe called for 180 gms of malt per loaf and this meant I could make two loaves per jar. my previous jars (a different brand), would only let me make one loaf per jar and then I had to open a new jar which of course meant that I had a lot of malt left over. Enter Meridian with a nice big jar, problem solved, plus a little bit left over for me to eat straight from the spoon, lovely. Imust say that the malt was really good to eat neat as it were but also made terrific malt loaves! I will certainly be buying more of it.

really nice, mix it with plant based milk to make vegan horlicks, although it is slighty sour and price could be a bit better

Really like this product. No nasties added, organic. Perfect. I use it mainly for focaccia and bagels. Yum!

Used it for making pizza in a normal conventional oven to help with the lower temp. Seems to have worked successfully with the result being better pizza crust compared to my first attempt without malt

I was introduced to this product while living overseas. It was the only locally-available malt source. Despite having no experience brewing beer, it was easy to use and made great beer. Now that we're back stateside with unlimited malt sources, my husband still insists on using this brand. It costs quite a bit more than other malts (and we'll eventually try those options), but old habits (and taste bud preferences) die hard.

Good tasting, many uses. A must for making bagels. Add a spoonful to Wheatena to make it taste like Maltex, which, sadly, is discontinued.
