Perfect for what I wanted
I bought this watch repair kit to take a few lnks out of this watch I was bought from here Seiko SND449P1 Men's Titanium Chronograph Watch I did take it to some chap calling himself Mr Watch or Dr Watch or something and he wanted thirty quid to take a few links off. I thought i'd give it a go myself. Had a quick look on here and found this little watch kit at what I can only describe as a bargain price for the money it saved me!There's loads of useful items in here like tiny screwdrivers and needle point pliers, clamps, back removal tools, spring pin removal tools nd such but all I wanted was the link removal tool. The tools in this kit are not top spec by any means and have a bit of bend in them during use but they can get the job done as long as you know what you're doing. I needed to remove a few links from the Seiko bracelet and did not have a clue until I just searched how to remove links from Seiko watch bracelet. . .and hey presto! I watched a video a few times and did the job in about ten mins just taking my time. There was no fiddly bits as the pin locking mechanism on these Seiko bracelets is spot on and simple to take apart and put back together as long as you have the correct tool, which is in this kit thankfully. If you're thinking of doing this just search the net for how to do it for your specific watch. There's loads of videos and advice out there to help you and it's easy once you know how!I also removed the back off my lads Kahuna watch which has a wide leather strap across it that doesn't come off but I got it done and battery changed with this little kit. I cannot believe what we're beng charged when you can do it yourself. But be sure you know what you're doing first and this watch kit will pay for itself on it's first use probably.Highly recommended.

Does the job
The tools are pretty crude but do the job as intended. To remove links from your watch bracelet first remove the spring pin from the clasp with the small fork like tool provided. Check the inside of your bracelet, you should see small arrows on the links that can be removed, (the arrows also shows the direction in which to remove the pin) Check that the push pin on the press is the correct size, IE slightly smaller than the bracelet pin to be removed. If not, change it for the correct size. Lay the bracelet flat on the bed of the press, take care to align both the push pin and bracelet pin, hold the bracelet flat on the bed of the press while slowly applying pressure on the pin, by turning the handle clockwise. You should then see the pin protruding from the bracelet, withdraw the push pin and then remove the bracelet pin with the pliers. Repeat the process to remove all the links needed. reverse the procedure to replace the pins the same way and from the same side they came out, you can use the side of the pliers to push them back flush with the side of the bracelet, then use the press if needed. Re join the clasp with the spring pin. I've used the press several times now, no problem.

Great piece of kit!
I have never messed with watches or their straps/bracelets before but less than 24 hours after receiving this tool kit (which itself was less than 24 hours after ordering it via Amazon Prime!), and after a very little Googling for (illustrated) advice on how to resize (i.e. remove links from) a Seiko watch bracelet, I managed to do that very thing with my own recently acquired watch! Some reviewers of a very similarly looking (but possibly marginally cheaper) tool kit have complained of the lack of instructions on how to use the tools and the poor quality of these Chinese made tools (this tool kit seems also to come from a Chinese factory - as you would expect at the price). But come on! Unless you are venturing into watch repair jobs with this tool kit that you simply should not be attempting - they train the smart guys who use these tools professionally years and years (including a two year stint at a watch making school in Manchester!) in their use - it is pretty obvious which tools you would need to use for a simple job like resizing a watch bracelet. As for the Chinese quality, my tool set seems well up to the simple tasks I intend to use it for, provided that I am sensible and, allowing for my undoubted ignorance and lack of any training in the use of the tools, I don't use any undue force with any of the tools.I have absolutely no regrets in buying this tool kit and with another watch bracelet likely to need resizing, I reckon I will have got my money back on this purchase in the jeweller's charges saved by removing the two strap links myself!
