HDD/SSD adapter caddy for Apple iMac 20" 21.5" 24" 27" (2009-2010) 12.7 mm (SATA - SATA)

Bought it for my iMac 21.5 mid 2010 and it fitted rather nicely. Well made. You will need small and long screwdrivers thought. Used it for 2nd HDD 2.5 inch 1TB as the master hard drive used SSD for 120GB El Captain is about 105GB with Windows 7 on it. That was according the plan. Theoretically it works. Practically it works kind of, but the CPU is overheating. When I touch the back of the iMac it is around 50 Celsius. This is not a good sign. Hence removed and installed the DVD optical drive back. Temperature issues disappeared. No Fan noises. Summary: This product does the job, but not for my 2010 iMac as overheating issues. To run Windows 7 all you need to upgrade your RAM by 2 pcs of 4GB (total of 8GB) as it comes with 2 pcs of 2GB. Now I have 12GB of memory and both system works perfect. Good luck

Cheap SSD caddy, encountered no issues with it in the few months its been fitted. Installation was pretty simple and it came with a basic instructions sheet. There was never a worry of having to fidget around with anything like the SSD or even putting the optical drive bracket onto this as I have experienced with other similar products in the past. Would definitely recommend it if you are on a budget and looking for SSD caddy for your mac!

Have a Macbook Pro 17" that I am giving to my caught and wanted to kit it out with an SSD to makes sure its running as quickly as possible and this caddy fits the area left vacant by the Superdrive and allows a nice quick SSD to be installed. I would have given it 5 * were it not for the connecting mount being just slightly loose if I can call it that, however once you have the keyboard on and tightened all the screws etc, then its all snug.

Worked as expected. I have no knowledge about these things, but with a lot of guides online I got this inside my MacBook Pro 2012 and managed to install an SSD where my HDD used to be. Lasted me for years before I sold the machine.

Worked in a 2011 mac 14 inch as described thank you excellent product helped me double the gf's HD - as her disk drive was already dead. Keep in mind the HDD goes in this bay - the SSd goes in the original HDD bay.

Very easy to fit and works like a charm in my imac 27inch late 2009. Had to remove a couple of small plastic locators to get it to fit properly into the old superdrive frame but this didn't take a minute to do and didn't cause any issues at all

After reading the reviews i bought it for Macbook pro late 2011 15". installation is easy and the HDD works great, i get 75mb/sec on my HDD. But the problem is it does not fits in to my macbook pro, i have to press the case and screw it. But there is still a slight gap left. So i recommend buying some other caddy for Macbook pro. I don't recommend this product for macbook pro late 2011 users to replace HDD on the optic drive space. So i guess the reviews where people fitted this product perfectly in to macbook pro 2011 are false or fabricated.

Does what is says on the tin, works and fits perfectly in my 15" Macbook Pro late 2011. Simple to install as well

Funziona bene, si integra bene ed è semplice (ovviamente) da montare. La modifica per inserire questo tipo di adattatore non è esattamente alla portata di tutti, se non armati di pazienza, manualità e un minimo di spirito di osservazione nel guardare le mille guide che ci sono sull'argomento. Consiglio, ovviamente, di abbinarci l'SSD, possibilmente un SSD degno di questo nome. Un piccolo appunto: ovviamente, l'SSD andrà montato dentro questo adattatore SE volete conservare il vecchio HDD da 3.5 in dotazione con l'iMac. Non cambia nulla in termini di prestazioni: se dopo la modifica il risultato raggiunto non è quello sperato, montarlo al posto di quello da 3.5 non cambierà un bel niente.

Ich wollte mein DVD-LW aus meinem MBP 15" Late 2011 raus haben und eine 2. SSD einbauen. Die Suche im I-Net ergab mehrere Möglichkeiten und Preisen ! Ich habe mich für den einzeln Kauf entschieden. Es ist einfach güntiger als das komplette Satz ! Nun zum Qualität: Der Caddy ist sehr gut gebaut, macht einen wertigen Eindruck ! Schrauben sind sogar mitgeliefert ! Top ! Zum Einbau: Es hat nicht ganz 10 Minuten gadauert. Der Caddy passt perfekt in den MBP. Nur die 2 originale Schrauben zur Befestigung des Caddys - an der äußeren Seite - passten leider nicht mehr, aber dafür sind 2 mitgelieferten Schrauben da. Zur Funktion: Es funktioniert auf Anhieb. Man muss nur das Festplattendienstprogramm bemühen um die neue Platte zu konfigurieren. Die Überprüfung im Systemprofile zeigt, dass die neue Platte im Caddy sogar mit 6GB/s arbeitet. Entgegen einiger Artikeln im I-Net, dass der 2. Sata-Anschluß nur mit 3GB/s arbeitet ! Bin total zufrieden und kann das Produkt nur empfehlen.

He substituido la superdrive de mi iMac de mediados de 2011 por un ssd con este adaptador y la verdad que encaja todo perfectamente. Los ventiladores funcionan correctamente y no he tenido ningún problema. El iMac ahora funciona mucho más rápido, fluido y con menos ruidos. Conectando el ssd directamente placa, se alcanza mejor velocidad de lectura, pero con este adaptador os aseguro que funciona muy rápido y no te complicas desmontando la placa. Vale la pena, y le das una segunda vida a tu Mac.

Montato su mac mid2012. Prima di ordinarlo ho fatto una ricerca e comparato i concorrenti, è uno dei più economici, ma ugualmente valido. Scrivo subito che dentro ha il cacciavite a stella necessario per il montaggio. Lo dico perchè li ho comprati separatamente e quando mi è arrivato l'ordine mi son pentito. Basta guardare un paio di tutorial prima di farlo per la prima volta e poi ci si stupirà di chi paga qualcuno per farlo.. Suggerisco di tener a portata di mano uno spazzolino vecchio e un aspirapolvere portatile per dare una spolverata (il mio era pieno) Molto più leggero del CD, alleggerisce tutto il case, quelli neri in foto sono adesivi, io li ho tolti per non avere brand e per tenere il metallo in vista.
