Berghaus Women's Trailhead 60 Litre Rucksack

We purchased this for my daughter to take on her Silver Duke of Edinburgh expedition. She had borrowed a school one for bronze but we wanted a better fit. At 15 she was only 8 stone and about 5'3" so quite small and 60 litres was fine. Although some kids had much bigger rucksacks you were only allowed to carry a quarter of your bodyweight so this one was fine. Although this is a "woman's" my son is taking it on his Bronze Expedition as he is small and light too. Berghaus is a great make for outdoor prodcuts and we are very pleased with this purchase.

My hubby has the same backpack but slightly larger version and I was persuaded to buy this because his is very good quality and like his, this fits in all the essential kit I need for camping. This takes sleeping bag, roll mat and small tent with my food and other essentials without any problem. I like the colours and the straps are very comfy with a range of adjustments that can be made to suit body shape. A lot cheaper here than in camping stores or outlets

This bag has been fantastic travelling around both Asia and India! The fit is perfect and I’ve had no discomfort carrying it around. The quality is fantastic and has stayed together with no rips and tears through night buses/airports/trains/boats etc whereas a suitcase would’ve certainly been dented! The overall cover is fabulous too to keep it a little cleaner!Thankyou berghaus!

I like that it comes with a rain cover and adjustable straps + hydration compatible.I am not impressed with comfort and fit. The straps are not the most comfy and the hip straps kept slipping down even though I’ve already tightened it to the point where my citculation was compromised.I can not, in my good consciense, recommend this. However, it may just be that my body structure isn’t suitable for it.

Took this on a two week holiday to Italy. Very durable and does not damage easily. The biofit backsystem makes a big difference on weight distribution, especially for women of a smaller stature. The only issue I had with this rucksack was the divider between the upper and lower compartment. Everytime it was tightened, it would just loosen from the weight of the upper compartment. I eventually stopped using the divider all together. It's still a good bag, and can hold quite alot!

Love this rucksack. Super comfortable, even when fully loaded, thanks to its great waist strap and adjustable height feature. Lovely and roomy with deep side pockets and I especially like the huge zip at the bottom, allowing access to items that have been packed first. It is quite heavy though.

The bag is a good size- I'm using mine on a 4 month long trip, full it holds around 13kgs. It's comfortable on your back and I like the look of it. Only thing I don't like is some backpacks open up completely like a suitcase- this has a separate zip at the bottom but only to a small compartment, so it can be a pain to get to your clothes in the middle of the bag.

My daughter used this for DofE, hiked for 2 days with full pack and no problems at all. The raincover is in a bottom pocket secured by a velcro seal, took me a while to find it. One large main section, 2 decent sized zipped side compartments, side pockets both sides, top zipped compartment and useful lower zipped access. Highly adjustable to get the right fit.
