Salon-quality results at a fraction of the cost!
I've had several Shellac manicures in the past and I love them, but they are too pricey for me to indulge in regularly. After months of dithering about whether to buy my own lamp and looking at several different products, I bought the NailStarยฎ UV lamp from Amazon and, after a very speedy delivery, I settled down to do my own shellac manicure. To be honest, I expected to make a mess of it - I'm not a professional nail tech - but after only 40 minutes I had 10 beautiful, glossy nails that I'm proud of! The lamp was very straightforward and simple to use. It has different timer settings and a 'constant' setting (because different brands of polish require different curing times). The instructions are clear and I was very happy with how easy it was to use. The opening is wide enough to put your toes in, so it is suitable for pedicures as well as manicures. I'm really pleased with my purchase and the reasonable price I paid - less than the cost of a manicure at a salon.

NailStar have nailed it. You need this UV nail lamp.
Had this lamp for a short while. It came with the bulbs already in place and ready to go. I have had ALOT of nail lamps this is 100% the best by far that I have had. Choice of constant light or 120secs or 180secs with a timer button to start it. Spot on. Has not failed me yet. Can fit my foot or full hand in it and no problem what so ever during beetles or blue sky products. Thank you!!! Thank you for creating a lamp at an affordable price that works! I have had too many high street nightmare lamps! Perfect. Wouldnโt hesitate to buy another any time.

Good solid product. Would certainly recommend it.
A very nicely made and compact product. Arrived on time and was well packed. I actually bought this as an aid to help me produce small printed circuit boards and it functions perfectly.Very good value for money and suitably robust. It should also work very well on curing Shellac Gel nail products (which I assume is its real purpose!!). In reality my wife also uses this for her nails and now says that she would not use anything else. Now that I/we have use it for some time I can guarantee that this is a great product and excellent value for money. Just one last thing: would it be possible for the manufacturers of this device to produce one that would take 2 hands, side by side, at the same time. I could then produce wider Printed Circuit Boards!!

Brilliant for curing your nails!
Good product, quick delivery. The lamps come wrapped in bubble wrap which was great, however they are quite hard to fix into the slots, with a small out of space, and it says that you shouldn't touch the glass on the lamps but to push them in by the end, (I've got tiny hands but this was still no mean feat) The lamps have come out a few times, luckily no breakages though. Happy with how the product cures, it cures so well in fact I've had trouble getting the nail polish off my nails! Would recommend this product. Not overly expensive and does what it says on the tin !

Better than the lamp the beauticians shop had!
It is a good lamp, cures the UV gel polish, the dryer has a button to set the timer for 2mins....very easy to set up just needed to insert 4 lightbulbs into it, after sliding the base out to make it easier. Each coat needs cured for 2 minutes. I was new to shellac nails and had it done once in a salon for a night out recently...her UV lamp wasn't working right, seemed the timer kept turning off and I had to re-insert my hands as it wasn't doing the 2 minutes. She should buy one of these! I didn't go back to the nail bar, just simply invested in my own UV lamp, various uv gel polishes,it's good knowing I won't need to go to a nail bar EVER again and get robbed blind! I have done my toe nails too! (Feet can also be put under the lamp ) Top tip, buy pre-injection skinwipes , available very cheaply, they are called 70% isopropyl alcohol, and rub along nails to take off any tackiness from your nails final coat.

Would be perfect if it would work
Update: bought replacement bulbs and the lamp still not working so I guess it's just died after a few months of use. Shame because I liked it first :( I bought this lamp around 3 months ago, it did really well, loved it because it's lovely, but it stopped working when I last used it, the machine light is on but apart from that no reaction if I press a button. Might be the lightsbulbs, but might be mechanical too. Will try to order some new bulbs to see if that'd make a difference, but if not, then it's quite disappointing that it stopped working after 3 months :(

Great value - very happy. Nails never been stronger
I did a bit of research online before I bought one of these, read all the scare stories on beauty forums about how if you don't get an expensive branded lamp, you will fail at life and your fingers will drop off, etc etc, and you know what? It's great. I'm so glad I bought it. Granted, I only use mine for personal use, I'm not in the trade, but at this price what have you got to lose? I'm pretty sure most of the nail places I've been too don't use branded lamps, and I was sick of paying 20 - 30 quid to get shellac done and knowing I could do a better job of my french tips myself (they were often wobbly, once the lady even got a hair stuck in the topcoat which was very frustrating for 3 weeks!) I was also unhappy that every time I went to get my nails done they'd leave me with my hands in a bowl of acetone for ages then use an electric file to take off the old shellac/gel, this is damaging and thins the nails. At home, I either wrap them up in foils (be careful - not for long!!) or more likely just hold a soaked bit of cotton wool on each and quite quickly it can be gently eased off with an orange nail file. Since I've bought the NailStar lamp my nails hardly ever break - they've got really strong and grow quickly. I would agree with other reviews I've seen on here that it's sensible to splash out on the polishes themselves instead of the lamp - I use CND shellac only, not gel, and I'm very happy with the results - long lasting, high shine, strong nails, lots of complements. Although the CND polishes are expensive, that and the lamp cost are nothing compared to what you'll save on trips to the nail shop, making time to go there and having to sit there uncomfortable. I'm a convert.
