My dog loves his food in this.
I ordered the large size. I had to cut away most of the little plastic "teeth" which surround the two holes because my dog is fed cold pressed food which is larger than normal kibble. He loves rolling it about and bashing it with his feet to get his food out, he does expect me to help too so we end up with a game of doggie football! I do have a negative point though. After he has had it a few minutes it comes undone and all the contents fall out. There is no way of stopping this as the two halves screw together but there is no locking mechanism. I did try sticking on a piece of sticky tape but he just pulls it off! This means I have to watch him while he has it and keep tightening it up. Make sure you order one large enough not to fit into your dogs mouth, it is made of hard plastic and would be dangerous to the dogs mouth if he bit into it. For this reason I never leave him alone whilst he has it or leave it around after he has finished with it but take it away, wash it and leave it open to dry. It does keep him amused though while he has it and would slow down a dog who gobbles down his food quickly from doing so.

Dog loved it! Owner reserves judgement - updated, not recommended
I have a male Staffy from a rescue centre who has quite severe separation anxiety when left, and which has resulted in considerable destructive behaviour to bedding and also compulsive tail chasing and self mutilation of tail. I've been working with a behaviourist from the rescue centre and we have discovered that treat filled toys make a big difference in distracting him from his anxiety when left but the toys need to be pretty robust to stand up to the Staffy jaw muscle. So after several hours of online research and reading reviews I decided to try the large size (so that he can't get the whole thing inside his mouth) Kibble Nibble. He took to it straight away so I left him rolling it contentedly around, spilling out treats every time he batted it round with his paw. I have to leave him and then creep back and try to spy on him without him seeing me as the tail chasing stops as soon as he sees me or knows I'm around.Fifteen minutes later, I went back to check on him and discovered that he had somehow managed to unscrew it (it screws together in the centre so that it can be easily filled) - I had struggled to unscrew it so no idea how he managed. Not a single tooth mark on it though. I had half expected the clear plastic windows to end up cracked or punctured. Needless to say not a crumb of treats left.I think it may end up having to be superglued together in future and filled only through the holes in each end. I wondered about duct tape over the centre seam where it screws together but that would just end up ripped off and eaten I suspect.I couldn't help smiling as I stared in disbelief at the two separate parts as I had expected them to at least have been damaged.I think the dog is considerably smarter than I give him credit for.I will need to test it out again several times to see just how durable it is - until now the only other toys which have survived have been Kongs and the Petsafe Purple Busy Buddy Squirrel, so I am a little dubious as to how long this will remain usableUpdate : tried it several more times and each time the dog was somehow able to get it open within 5 - 10 minutes eating all the treats at once. I wrapped PTFE tape around the screw opening around the centre which succeeded in jamming it closed successfully but meant that treats then had to b added through holes in top and bottom only. I then discovered the dog was gradually stripping the purple edging to the clear panels off it so I'm afraid it can now no longer be used unless the dog is being watched very carefully and in all honesty it will probably not ever get used again. So a bit of a waste of money. I've knocked it down from 4 stars to 2 stars because of this. It may be suitable for dogs which are not as destructive or when the owner is watching constantly but I wouldn't recommend it I'm afraid.

Great quality and fun for your dog.
I bought this along with the tug a jug for my 11 month old, toy destructive staffie/springer cross. She eviscerates a soft toy in less than an hour. She really liked this toy and would play with it using her paws, football fashion, nose, head and mouth to move it around the floor for ages, getting her food out of it. It was entertaining to watch but she tired of it after a while and now only occasionally plays with it. I think she does get easily bored of things so I have to keep her well motivated by ringing the changes with toys.Other reviewers had trouble twisting the two parts together, it is a bit tricky but if you line the two halves up together then twist backwards, it clicks into place and you can twist it shut. I had the problem of it twisting open while she played with it and kept having to screw it back together. As with the tug a jug, it is a quality product made from durable components and well constructed, virtually indestructible. Unlike other toys that release food, there are no parts that a dog can chew off and the food just fall out. The soft rubber mesh type pattern around the outside protects flooring and furniture from overenthusiastic play and does make a good noise on hard flooring, adding to the excitement!

Kibble Dispencer
Very good from point of view of difficulty and therefore time that dog spends getting out the kibble. You can snip off plastic prongs at openings to adjust rate at which kibble is dispensed. Warning do so a very little at a time as if you overdo it, its cut and you can't replace it. May not be the best 'first' kibble dispenser, our lab had a few others and as a result had more perseverance when kibble didn't come out with every movement. Shape is oval and gives unpredictable movement which dog seems to enjoy. The two big downsides to the product are that it is not made with enough thread for screwing it securely shut and when the dog bashes it around it opens and the dog just gobbles up the contents defeating the entire point of it. However this is simply overcome with a bit of sellotape - though I do think this is something the manufacturers should sort out.It is very noisy and hard on surfaces. Absolutely fine if you live in a detached house and have tiled floors - we do. I would not recommend it for apartment dwellers - unlike you very much dislike your neighbours - or for timber floors.
