Rolson 60379 3.6 kg Telescopic Magnetic Pick Up Tool with LED

This is a brilliant little gadget and I was amazed at its lift capacity. The first use it had was to lift up a crowbar that had been dropped where fencing work was being done. Couldn't reach the crowbar and this little gadget pulled it out! Fantastic! It is easy to hold and it has a good extending length system, so really pleased with this item. Thank you.

This is a very useful tool with the strong magnet and integral fairly wide focused light. The light uses three watch type batteries housed with the magnetic end. The telescopic stem gives a very effective straight means of getting to the the lost item.It is not so useful if one needs to get past some obstructions and it is no use at all for picking up non-ferrous items, unless one uses a bit of bluetac on the end perhaps. For these situations, the Rolson 60365, LED Claw and Magnetic Pick Up Tool, with its flexible stem - ASIN: 300ANNSPYM complements this tool very well. The only drawback to that tool is that the light is not so strong and will really only light up the lost item once found. But use of this tool would be a good remedy for this in shining its more powerful light down into the area where the lost item is.I believe these items are generically made but the Rolson stamp, being fairly well known, gives confidence in their quality. I think these items are available without the Rolson label, but they seem to be more expensive, so I was pleased to find these at their better prices.

This is a handy item to have in the toolbox and helps to retrieve small ferrous metallic objects from hard to access places.It feels substantial and has smooth extension and retraction. The magnet is strong enough to pick up small items and the light is a helpful addition.My only negative is the size of the magnetic light head, which is obviously a selling point in many respects, but the addition of the light makes the head bigger than it would be otherwise. I have one of these tools without a light and the magnetic head is much smaller (as you’d expect) and this makes it a bit less cumbersome. Nevertheless, the addition of a light has its own benefits and so you pay your money and make your choice.

The media could not be loaded. It does the job fine for the money. I don't think you'd pick up anything heavy at an angle but lets be honest it's designed to get small items that are out of reach. As it uses a magnet it will only pick up things with a ferris metal content; so no surprise it didn't work for the 1star video where she's trying to pick up a 20p piece (maybe she should have paid attention in primary school science when they did magnets). I originally thought the light was a bit of a gimmick but it was a real help when retrieving the top of my tap spanner from under the floor boards bellow a bath.

I recently picked up this extendable magnet tool to help with some work on my car, and it ended up being a total lifesaver. I dropped a bolt deep into the engine bay and this tool made retrieving it super easy. It is long enough to reach right down to the bottom of the engine bay & can easily hold the weight of a few bolts.The LED light on the tip is extremely useful & helps in the search for any missing bolts!

I've bought this as a gift, sadly this item does not come packaged or with any information which I thought was very poor

Saved my skin so many times when I've dropped screws, nuts, sockets etc into the engine bay. Very strong magnet. Telescopic handle means you can get it to just the right length. The LED light on the magnet is genius. Saves having to get the torch out too when searching for screws etc that have dropped into the dark recesses of the engine bay. Cheap n cheerful but indispensable now.
