No definately not.....when it absorbs water it becomes unstable and releases toxins into the water...

This will be my first time trying modelling, what will be the best way to store the clay when not in use? Thank you.

I wrap the clay back up in the packet. Put it in an airtight container along with a damp sheet of kitchen roll and also a layer of cling film over the top of the container before putting the lid on to make extra airtight and then I keep it in the fridge. I've left an open half packet this way for 2 weeks and it was fine; not even dry at the edges.

when modelled is it outdoor viable

Not unless you coat it with outdoor varnish.

Would this be good for designing a model car? I'm trying to prepare for transport design at Uni and was wondering what clay to get. Thanks in advance.

It is unlikely. Just like object oriented computer models it is worth noting the properties and methods of the clay. However, just as plasticine has been used successfully to model crossing over in genetics so the tool is sometimes only limited by the imagination of the user. Modelling the way we think of 'car' can be helpful and as such any process-based function can help just as gestalt methodologies were used in thinking of the car from the perspective of the windscreen wiper.
