Fantastic Customer Service
Review Update - I felt the need to revise this review after the great customer service I received from this seller, within 24 hour of my original review this seller contacted me offering several resolutions to my complaints outlined below, all of which resolved the issues I have been having. They advised of an alternative link to reinstall Netflix which runs a lot smoother now. Its great to know they actively review the comments left on their products and try to resolve to any problems their customers have, for the great customer service alone I would buy again from this seller. Thank you guys. - Original Review - Small and tidy box and remote works well however apps such as Netflix constantly freeze and are laggy. Picture quality is good (when you can get videos to play). The device as a whole runs pretty slow reminds me of a cheap android tablet with limited functionality. Instruction manual is no use as it appears to be for a different android box. I have the box hardlined to the internet however I tried to connect it to the wifi just to test it and It would not connect, the fact that even the instruction manual suggests you may have problems connecting to the wifi says it all. It says the RRP for this product is 119.99 I paid 47.99 and for what I go I feel a bit short changed. If you are insistent on purchasing this product I would recommending buying a qwerty remote with it as it becomes annoying very quickly using the onscreen keyboard and remote when typing.

I like it
Out of the box, it is much more compact than I expected. Smaller than a pencil and weighing 36 grams.A power cable and hdmi cable are supplied, however they are quite short. The power cable is about a meter long and the hdmi cable is about 0.5 meters long. The sensor for the remote is brilliant, picking up signal from various angles and distances. Setting the device up and configuring the settings was a breeze, done in minutes. The device has 8gb of internal memory with the option of expanding it using the microsd card slot. The device has root access from the first power on. You can type using the remote, however I do recommend a keyboard. There is a memory cleaning app pre-installed which seems efficient. With 2gb of ram and a quad core processor, it is more than capable of streaming video using the wifi, although I have not tried 4k resolution. There is 2 usb ports (2.0), 1 hdmi port, 1 microsd card slot and 1 ethernet port. There is no audio port, meaning your hdmi connected screen will need speakers on it.Pros:Light and compact. (36 grams)Easy to setup and configure.Specifications are value for money. (£40 at the time of this review)Wifi and ethernet connectivity.Root access.Very little power consumption.Cons:Short power cable. (1 meter)No audio port. (PC monitor will have no sound)Overall I am happy with it's performance and quality. I have no trouble recommending it.

Great performance at a low cost
The media could not be loaded. ABOX A1 Plus Smart Android 6.0 TV BOX with 2GB RAM Amlogic S905X Quad Core A53 processor 64 bits, HDMI 2.0 output Support 4K*2K@ 60HZ Full HD,H.265,WIFI 2.4Ghz I was impressed with the specifications of this box on paper for the low price. The main draw for me in choosing this box was the 2GB RAM and the inclusion of the S905X processor with the Mali 450MP GPU.When it arrived from Amazon I unboxed it and the contents were as follows:Contents1 x ABOX A1 Plus Android TV Box1 x IR TV Remote Control1 x HDMI Cable1 x UK Power Adapter1 x Instruction LeafletThe first thing I noticed when I unpacked it was how small the TV box was, it was much smaller than my other boxes, so small in fact that it fitted in to the palm of my hand. The box was made from hard ABS plastic all round but had an effect of brushed aluminium, it feel sturdy and quite durable. On the bottom there were 4 rubber feet and grilled slots for ventilation. The front of the box was quite ordinary with just a single LED that lit up red or blue depending on its power state (but I do like boxes that have LCD displays shame this didn’t). For connectivity / ports on the side and back it had 2 x USB 2.0 sockets (no Amlogic CPUs can do USB 3.0 for now, that’s why you don’t see it on TV boxes with S905X CPUs), 100MB LAN, SPDIF, HDMI and finally a power socket. It had a plethora of software already installed including the classics like Kodi 17.3 (with plugins), Modbro, Showbox, Miracast etc. It was also pre-rooted.I like to pass through the audio to my AV receiver for the best possible sound. However Kodi changed something recently so DTS passthrough stopped working on all my Amlogic boxes (nVidia Shield was untouched). After a bit of detective worked, I worked out you have to install “kodi-20170729-1e523d7-shitty-armeabi-v7a” version to get it to work again or LibreELEC so I did both for flexibility. When you install LibreELEC onto a microSD (the MicroSD card is spring loaded which I liked) it offers you the chance to boot into Kodi a lot faster (effectively bypassing Android) and leaves you an incredible 1.4GB of FREE RAM. Everything worked great.I tried a collection of various audio and video files in the KODI 17.3 app, here are the result of some its decoding ability:Dolby 2.0 [PASS]Dolby Digital 5.1 [PASS]DTS-HD MA 7.1 [PASS]ATMOS 1080 x1920 Bluray [PASS]VC-1 HD [PASS]4K - 3840 × 2160 MPEG4 [PASS]4K - 3840 x 2160 VP9 OGG [PASS]It breezed through my samples files no problem automatically switching frame rates (audio and picture was incredible as expected).I attached an external NTFS 2.5” USB 3.0 1.5TB hard disk and it had no problem reading it, but one tip would give is to plug both USB hard disk connectors in or use a powered hub, because when I first tried the speed dropped due to insufficient power. This TV box was powered by an Amlogic S905X CPU, which is an updated S905 with hardware 4K VP9 decoding, HDR support and networking features built in to the CPU but it is at a cost of slower general purpose computational speeds. There are faster RAW CPUs in the TV market such as the S905, S912, RK3399 etc. but I didn’t find the CPU speed a hindrance. During general use this box was great it hardly slowed down but with the Ethernet port was only 100Mbits which I think is a little dated.I was curious on its power usage so I measured the power consumption. During playback of most media it only consumed a tiny 3-5 Watts of power and 0 watts in standby. It had CEC control so it could be controlled automatically by HDMI using a TVs remote control.A review of an Android box wouldn’t be complete without an Antutu Benchmark result and it scored a reasonable 35,023.I spent a lot of time with this box and I was impressed with its performance. It played virtually everything I threw at it and it did it extremely well (without any slowdown or pauses I might add). The apps Kodi (in particular) were setup extremely well for people that just want to stream. A couple of its negatives were its 100Mbit Ethernet port and the lack of a mini keyboard, however as you get 2GB RAM, an IR remote control, a HDMI cable, all for under £40 I think this TV box offers exceptional value. Recommended.I’ve included various pictures. Thanks for taking the time to read my review.

Had to get a replacement because the first one started freezing and resetting
It worked fine out of the box but started to freeze and reset after 2 weeks. The seller, Globalmall UK, was very responsive and sent me a replacement. I'm very happy with their customer service. I will update the product review after testing the item for a while.

Awful, pointless discount trap; totally unfit for any purpose.
The worst product of its kind I've ever used. The included version of the android OS is only compatible with a handful of apps. The majority of important TV apps were not supported, defeating the whole point of the product for us.The remote 'mouse' function was necessary to use, and also literally painful to use. The cheap buttons have hard nubs where the activation switches sit underneath. The lack of responsiveness and swift wearing out of one of the buttons just added to the irritation I felt with this item.Absolutely avoid it. It wouldn't be worth the money if it were £9.99
