Great Gadget and easy to use.
I bought this to make banners for a coffee morning and it really is very easy to use. You can get papers by We R Memory Keepers specifically cut to the right size to use with this but I just cut card to size and it worked just as well. Very pleased with this and would certainly recommend. Will also be a great asset in card making and scrapbooking.

Great tool
Love it, I already owned the mini version but I had bought punch that you can use for attaching them together and it wasn’t compatible with the mini letters, neither was the pads of card that are made for them, so I then bought this standard size. It was compatible with both. I made a fab Birthday banner for my thirteen year old son in supper quick time, I recommend the punch for attaching them together although no necessary and the paper pads that are the perfect size, so no trimming paper down to size.

very easy to use
there is a book showing you how to do each letter. It was easy to understand, and easy to use. (Also if you look on You Tube you can find some good tutorials to help you. )

Recommended as pros outweigh the minor cons. See below to remedy the manufacturer's faults & errors.
SUMMARY: Pros outweigh cons. No deal-breakers as you'd correct e.g. use scissors. Short learning curve, then make a character in moments. Hands-on crafting. Consistent good-looking results. Extra-large characters, good for bunting or posters. One font plus an ornate version. Instructed work method is designed to avoid direct contact with the blade. Expensive as factors in shipping from the USA; shipping had been done before I bought. Instruction diagrams are a bit too small. Headings below: Ease of Use. Character size. Efficiency/Speed. Fonts. Getting Started - Card Blanks. Knife Blade & Holder. Instruction Booklet. Manufacturer Faults & Errors. Crafting Pleasure. Bunting. Suggested Corrections & Improvements. Suggested Accessory. Value For Money. Packaging. Re-sharpening Punch Blades. Review's Abbreviations. EASE OF USE A. Easy depending on gsm. 160gsm thick paper aka thin cardstock feels fine. With 160gsm I did all the work sitting down, the punches punched easily, the blade moved with little effort. With 300gsm cardstock I had to push more on the blade; I had to stand up to punch to apply the necessary extra force, and the heel of my hand felt a bit sore after 30 letters. B. A practical working size. 2.5" × 10" × 12.25" / 6.35cm x 25.4cm x 31.11cm. Fairly lightweight, 0.7kg. Easily portable but no handle. No bag or cover supplied nor available separately. C. Easy by design to make precise non-wonky cuts due to the blade-in-guiding-grooves system, except letter E where one cut is 0.5mm out (see FAULTS & ERRORS). D. Measurement marks (e.g. 1") can be hard to read as it's writ small and is integral 'raised relief' = same material and colour as the PB (Punch-Board). Solution: brighter light. E. As the knife blade's holder is built-in, with or without its blade, the PB doesn't store flat. Things stored on top e.g. card or Instructions, will stick up. CHARACTER SIZE: Extra-large characters. I've not yet found a die set that cuts letters & numbers as large as this. EFFICIENCY/SPEED: Once I got past the learning curve, it's faster and more convenient (and with less 'matrix waste') than my scan 'n' cut machine. FONTS: Smart-casual font, timeless, easily readable at distance (on a poster, say). Cuts letters (capitals only), numbers, ! and & and the list is hot-printed on the white/turquoise model of The Product. For an ornate version of the font, use the righthand punch's notch cutter to add a curvy fishtail (see photo). No ? and I suggest the dot of the ! for ' " : Also bought WRMK's Mini Alphabet Punch-Board (Amazon ref ASIN B01JHG03PE) - together they give you upper and lower case! GETTING STARTED - CARD BLANKS Prepare them to make the characters, one card blank per character. Requires card blanks measuring 3"x5", but a 5"x5" if doing Option 2 for M/W (Option 1 is 2 x N and join them together; turn upside down for W). Cut card blanks on the PB itself (the Instructions show how), or by other means. The smaller the paper/card you cut from the easier it is on the PB; the common size 12"x12" inches is a bit awkward but manageable. Tip 1: Make some card blanks for next time. Feels quicker next time. Tip 2: I've ordered pre-cut 3"x5" multi-coloured blanks on Amazon; some flashcards are that size but check the gsm. Tip 3: For lots of characters, use a free online 'letter frequency counter' for a fast accurate cutting list that reads "7 x E, 6 x A, 2 x M...". KNIFE BLADE & HOLDER (a) Designed for safety to try and avoid you making direct contact with the sharp blade, but that needs you to seat the blade properly in the holder otherwise it falls out when you raise the cutting area's lid to which it's attached. (b) Tip: mark the blade side of the plastic handle so you'll know where the blade is as you'll be turning it a lot. (c) When you slot the blade into the built-in plastic blade-runner guide-grooves, it's impossible to touch the blade plus it guarantees a perfect cut (no wonkiness). (d) No apparent manufacturer ("WRMK") age guidance. I suggest adult-supervised older children and upwards. (e) Spare blades available separately. Buy one soon after trying The Product if you plan to cut a lot of heavier cardstock e.g. 300gsm. INSTRUCTION BOOKLET (A) Mostly diagrams with little or no text (any text is English only). Occasional text captions in English, French, Spanish, German. Each character has several diagrams, one per stage. Diagrams could do with being larger. The various tiny arrows are easily overlooked, Until you're familiar with them, it can be hard to distinguish different align marks. (B) Contents index. A key to the symbols would be useful but there's none. (C) There are many instruction combinations so it needs concentration at first. Maybe try some out on scrap card? But it's mostly intuitive and you speed up with practice. (D) Every character's instructions has ALL the stages. Thankfully no "For W, see M..." nor "For 0 see O" nor "For R see A but..." etc. (E) Read page 33 for ! early on. You build up a supply of parts while doing other characters, no need to cut ! separately. (F) Instruction errors, see FAULTS & ERRORS below. (G) A cut-out & joined ABC comes in the packaging - it's NOT the size that the PB produces. CRAFTING PLEASURE: As important as a tool's build and efficiency. Hands-on crafting (manual, no machine, no "computer says no"), you're in full control. The results look satisfying. Fairly quick with satisfyingly consistent results. If, like me, you like gadgets, it does feel gadgety. Once you pass the learning curve you can work quickly and even let your mind wander. If using easy-to-punch gsm it can feel relaxing. There are many letters I really enjoy making. I love using the punches. MANUFACTURER FAULTS & ERRORS There are errors in the Instructions; they're not deal-breakers. I found two but so far I haven't done & G J K P Q V X 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9. (1.1) For E you'll end up with one cut that's 0.5mm out (see photo), even when you use the PB to cut the card blank. There are one or two other characters that do the same but not out by as much as 0.5mm. Adjust with scissors. Certain cuts I now never do with the PB but with scissors, no big deal. The instructions say "Notches and uneven edges may occur from improper paper size or user error" but should add "or due to product design". See SUGGESTED IMPROVEMENTS for how WRMK could correct & improve. (1.2) For L in the first diagram the card blank must actually be reverse side up or you'll make a backwards L. WRMK's error won't matter on paper/card identical on both sides, as you'd turn it over. BUNTING Good for producing characters for bunting, especially in combo with WRMK's banner punch-board. (The Product dates from 2019. The later Banner punch-board was designed to work with it.) Characters are small & flat enough to store easily, so mass production/storage is feasible e.g. I cut 72 characters for bunting now and in future, plus 'celebrate' and 'hooray'. SUGGESTED CORRECTIONS & IMPROVEMENTS Extend the PB to the right by a mere 1.2", ditto righthand punch, certain alignment marks and the see-feel circles that're above the righthand punch. Also add feel-bumps on the 1" line mark as measuring by butting card against bumps is more accurate than a visual-only mark that could put you out by up to the width of its line. This would guarantee perfect card blanks AND EVEN BETTER make card blanks without having to move the card/paper mid-process as now. It would also correct the slightly confusing fact that the right-hand end of the D-punch's card bed is a fraction too far to the left. When the Instructions show to place a card blank on the D-punch's card bed lined up with the right-hand line-mark (located left of the D-punch), the card blank fractionally overlaps the card bed at its righthand end, thus you wonder if WRMK means you instead to line up your card blank to the card bed end. To be clear, WRMK does mean you to line up against the right-hand line-mark (check on scrap card if in doubt). It's due to WRMK's slightly poor design because, pending the arrival of pre-cut 3x5" card blanks, I've cut all my card blanks using the PB. And in the Instructions WRMK should correct its first diagram for L. WRMK could increase the price to cover the extra materials but people would still buy it, perhaps including owners of this version who'd want the corrections & faster card blanks. SUGGESTED ACCESSORY WRMK, please sell separately a punch that makes E in one go. The user frequency of E in written British English and American English is 11.5%. I had to cut 12 x E for my first project and it felt tedious. S 9.5%, I 9%, A 7.6%, R 7.1%. The Product comes with a pictorial "serving suggestion" = a banner reading CELEBRATE :-) An E-punch would also make F and L as you'd cut off the relevant bars. VALUE FOR MONEY Decent value. Seems expensive but that's mainly due to built-in shipping costs from the USA, as WRMK is an American firm. When I bought the shipping had already occurred so Amazon got it to me fast. PACKAGING Comes carded, with the top and sides of the PB covered in single-use plastic. Knife or sharp scissors needed. Take care not to scratch or cut yourself on any sharp cut plastic (done that, on another WRMK item!). RE-SHARPENING PUNCH BLADES: Don't forget the tip widely shared among crafters: to extend The Product's life, re-sharpen punch blades for a cleaner sharper edge by several times punching aluminium foil, maybe more than one layer. REVIEW'S ABBREVIATIONS: "PB" = Punch Board = The Product. "WRMK" = the manufacturer.
