EF Booster

So now I have two of these and theyre just a huge time saver and incredibly effective I have one attached to a aps 2000ef one to a 1000ef. The idea is actually brilliant, i dreaded cleaning out my canisters usually once every 2 months but it's been 8 months and my canister is still clean removing all hassle from tank maintenance. The two taps on the booster make maintenance really easy and it traps all heavy muck leaving my expensive filter media with clean water for super effective filtration I have noticed a drop in ammonia and nitrates since using these in 2 heavily sticked goldfish tanks the ultimate filter test is goldfish! They are quite fiddly to attach hoses too takes around 20 minutes and a sharp knife but the time saved long term and the obvious benefits in filtration and water quality far outweigh the set up time. Highly recommended brilliant idea and an excellent product.

After wasting a lot of money on in aquarium filters I gave this a shot and I am very happy with it. My fish are finally happy and the water looks much cleaner and clearer after 20 min of use. It is very silent too. One thing to mention, after setting everything up and starting to filter, nothing was happening so I stopped it and added 1 L of fresh water to the canister and restarted it and worked perfectly afterwards with it getting full water flow within 5 minutes. If you have a small or bigger tank that gets overpopulated (like in my case) and you start losing your fish, I highly recommend this filter to you. Also it gives the benefit of not overheating your water tank in the summer :)

Bought this as a pre filter for a UV clarifier. Easy to fit and adjust the flow to suit the UV filter. It's all working very well in my small pond set up, very pleased.

This is a brilliant idea and it’s just a shame that fitting is made more difficult because of an oversight on the part of Allpond. That there’s a correctly sized pair of inlet/outlets hidden underneath the spigots that are fitted isn’t mentioned anywhere on the box or in the literature. There’s a mention of it with a broken link hidden on the user-unfriendly APS website ‘support’ section but you shouldn’t have to go looking for it. Fitting the pipework from the filter which this is supposed to complement is rendered a real nightmare of a task as a consequence of this information not being shared. I struggled for thirty minutes, injuring my hands and jeopardising my fish and beneficial filter bacteria in the process before finally getting the hose onto the oversize input. I get that AllPond are essentially just the agents here for a product which is produced and packaged in China (the unit is known as SunSun elsewhere) but would it be so difficult to include an explanatory slip of paper, or send out an email with the order confirmation? With that said, this is a great idea, liberating the whole of the space within the main filter to be used by media. The taps on this unit meaning it’s easy to isolate for the cleaning and/or replacement of the foam pads. I can’t imagine the main filter will need touching from one year to the next with this in place, we’ll see.

Doesn't come with a hosepipe so have to spend more money trying to get one.

This pre filter was easy to install and set up. I used an off cut of pipe from my original filter to connect. Keeps your main filter clean and give more room for biological media. My only criticism is the pipes are quick release but do have taps. Do you can't remove it to clean/empty.

I have attached this to my larger canister filter, to stop the large one getting to clogged up its easy to use and I think for a smaller tank would be enough I just wanted to save lugging the bigger filter about too often , time will tell but from doing some research on pondguru videos send it should be a great bit of kit !

I bought this in order to better maintain my canister filter. I put all my biological media in main canister filter and I clean these sponges every other week. Its super convenient to clean this than to take apart my main canister filter. Its saved me a lot of time and hopefully my nitrates continue to go down. Thank you pondguru for this recommendation.

Ottimo pre filtro, facile da pulire con i rubinetti di chiusura

Buon prodotto nonostante il prezzo basso, io nello specifico li uso come filtri, quindi è anche un prodotto molto versatile, buona qualità, tuttavia i morsetti del coperchio e gli attacchi per i tubi sono un po' fragili alla vista quindi consiglio di fare attenzione quando lo si apre per la pulizia ordinaria.
