VASI4KO - 2x 4mm banana plugs to crocodile clips test lead 0.7m

Pretty good quality for such a low price
These leads are not too bad, they are properly soldered and clamped onto the crocodile clips and have a perfectly acceptable resistance of 0.1 ohms or less per lead. Wire thickness is not great, but not the thinnest that you get on the real budget leads, and the wires have a nice tendency not to twist and get tangled like some cheaper ones. Banana plugs are not shielded, but are quite robust and give a very tight fit in my multimeter sockets. Overall, I would recommend these for low voltage hobbyist electronics, they will last. Obviously for more heavy duty electrics you really need to pay more for heavy duty leads, but for basic home electronics and similar these are perfectly adequate. If you're on a budget I wouldn't go lower than these, I've tried various cheaper alternatives from Asia and invariably they are much worse quality, with flimsy connections that break after a few weeks, and high resistance across the leads. These leads will do the job you expect, and will not break easily.

Not high enough quality for the price
Based on the existing reviews, it seems this product has varied a lot over the years. What I received was pretty clearly homemade with some very cheap grub screw style banana plugs and crocodile clips that were crimped but not soldered. It didn't match the picture at all.The screw on one of the banana plugs had been over-tightened cracking the plastic. The cable is thick walled but has a tiny core, although I've not measured it the gauge looks pretty low. In fairness, the listing makes no mention anywhere of either the wire gauge or current rating which should have been a warning. In short, this is exactly like something I could have put together myself for a fraction of the cost and not the well made pair of leads I thought I was getting. An identical looking set, with longer cable can be found on Amazon for half the price, which is probably closer to the true value (assembly included). Lesson learnt, I may salvage the crocodile clips but I'll swap the cable and buy better plugs - or I'll just cut my losses and buy a better quality set from another seller.

Ideal
Exactly as described and just what I needed. I use for testing parts and circuits in guitars, so I couldn't vouch for their use on more heavy duty projects. Already checked them out and they work fine.My multimeter is a fairly generic one and the plugs fit perfectly well. The probes that came with the meter have plugs that end in a tubular cover that fill the 'socket', these just plug in down the center and the plug housing covers the socket hole at surface level. As I said, I can't vouch for heavy duty use; but if you're doing the same as me, or similar, then I can solidly recommend these.

Decent quality leads.
Bought for use with a power supply unit. Quite good quality - The wire is supple and the banana plugs are moulded onto the cable. Only problem is the croc clip shrouds are a bit loose and slip down the cable. Not a deal breaker - These leads are good value.

Do the job well, but I found them a little difficult to work the crocodile clip. The shroud is a little stiff for the size. I have some problem with my fingers.

Electronics workshop use.
Quality looks good well priced but, wouldn't suggest use of these for auto electrics, the wire gauge is a little on the thin side for use in a heavy environment- more suited to electronics in a computer/consumer goods workshop.

A practical product at a good price.
Some practical information:-a). Lead resistance = 100 milliOhms typical each, (measured 0.195V at 1.0A with both croc clips mated), approx 26AWG.b). 4mm plug, exposed length = 17 mm, perfectly OK for standard 4mm terminal posts, but these plugs are a flimsy fit in your regular DVM which has shrouded safety sockets designed for 20mm long plugs - yet another instance where length is important.c). A good point - the wire is soldered to the croc clip.d). Cable length is a generous 75 cm, also cable sheath is reasonably flexible.

Perfect for the job!
Need crocodile clips for my multimeter, so these looked good. I was unsure whether the banana plugs would fit into the sockets on the multimeter, but they were fine (banana plugs seem to fit lots of sockets anyway, so it's not a problem on other multimeters either). The crocodile clip ends are very secure and can clip onto single copper wires, although the insulation around the clips looks a tiny bit thin. This also isn't a problem for me as I only use them for very very low voltage circuits (AA batteries, thereabouts).Overall, they're pretty good. The price wasn't bad either!
