Salt and Pepper Grinder Set with Matching Stand, Amison Stainless Steel Adjustable Coarseness Salt and Pepper Mills Set of 2- Silver

Finding a good salt and pepper grinder that doesn't cost the earth is like looking for the holy grail. They all break after a few years. If you buy cheap ones then they break in a week or two. This set isn't too bad as it broke for me in 2 years - so for the money considerably better than the cheapo ones you find in supermarkets. In this case the adjustment knob for coarseness snapped off. I decided to buy them again since without spending a fortune I don't think I'll get much better. Previously I'd spent 3 to 4 times as much and that lasted 5 years. So replacing these every 2 is marginally cheaper. Plus I don't think there's any difference between the two grinders you get so just replace one when it breaks. It seems to be beyond modern science to make a grinder that doesn't break - or at least I haven't found one.

I bought this set 2 years ago and was very pleased - as the grinder is at the top and there are lids, the salt & pepper doesn't end up all over your table and you can move it around easily in the kitchen & dining areas with the holder. You can also grind into the lid then take it off, when measuring an amount to add to recipes. I also liked the adjustable grinding so you can have fine or coarse, whatever you need. So overall I've been very happy with it, but unfortunately found this morning after 2 years of use, that part of the internal plastic grinding mechanism on the pepper grinder had broken, meaning it is no longer working and I will have to buy a replacement. I don't think I've done anything that would have counted as "heavy" or "inappropriate" use that would have caused this to break unduly - it must just have been a particularly tough peppercorn. I will be buying a replacement from the same brand so I don't have to replace the whole caddy & salt grinder, but am surprised it broke and hope the replacement lasts a bit longer!

Although these sets look good the looks don't translate into usefulness. I found the grinding mechanism very flimsy. I had to dismantle it as there were salt granules stuck inside the plastic fitting where the grinder is located. Number one I found it impossible to shake the salt out of the fitting and number two it was extremely difficult to put it back together. There is no way to get the salt out of the fitting and clean it properly which is a big downside for me. I've got to say though these are no better, or worse than similar more expensive ones I've bought before. They all seem to have a plastic grinder housing and mechanism, so for the the price perhaps these are the best of a bad bunch. I wouldn't buy again though, or recommend to others.

I purchased this set to go on the table, but the grinders really are quite large - too large, really. For reference, 20g of peppercorns filled one grinder about half-way, maybe three-fifths. The lids are a bit tricky to take off - just use your fingernail to lever off. I filled the other grinder with coarse pink rock salt, and I have found that large pieces of salt can jam the grinding mechanism. Finally, the dispersal of salt/pepper is very broad. I find that holding it over the centre of the plate will end up with coverage over the whole plate, without having to move the grinder around. Some people might like this, but I would prefer more precision. When I use these when I'm cooking, the salt and pepper tends to go everywhere. Overall I would say that I am not satisfied with this product.

These are clearly not stainless steel from the way they have rusted and when i purchased they had a lifetime guarantee which the seller is saying was a mistake and is refusing to honour. Very clear false advertisement. They never ground that well and can't cope with natural steam in a kitchen. Used both for salt as didn't need a pepper Grinder they only lasted about three months each and are impossible to wash properly. Avoid.

I like the generous capacity of both the Salt and Pepper mil, they look well and the stand that holds them is useful. My only slight criticism is that the Salt mill is a little too enthusiastic (more salt coming out than I would like) However this may be due to me putting Maldon Salt in the mill , which is a bit softer than sea salt ! overall very pleased x

The grinders themselves are great - easy to refill and use - however the stand (much to the annoyance of my inner perfectionist) is not welded together straight. The carrying handle leans over to one side which looks terrible on the table so much so I don't bother using the stand.If you are buying for the grinders, go ahead they are great, but if you are thinking of buying this for the stand/the entire product, find a different one!

Perfect and easy to use.So good I now have sets at both mine and parents homes, and other family have purchased.Even easy to use with arthritis and joint issues, design allows u to hold onto the unit anyway I want to get a perfect grind.Adjustable for course or fine grind, and each holds a decent amount of corns.flakes so you are not constantly having to fill then up again.Stand makes ease of storage or carrying to table a doddle.
