Timex Men's Ironman Essential 10 Full-Size Watch

Really good watch for timing your runs. I only really use the chronometer (Apart from normal watch function). Very easy to use and it also allows for split times in the chronometer. Simple - press button to start press button to stop, press twice to reset, what could be simpler. There are a couple of comments about it being difficult to unhook the watch strap when removing as it has a dimple on the holding loop which fits in a hole on the actual strap.. This is to stop strap coming loose and can be resolved in 5 seconds. Spin the loop around so that the dimple is on the other side of the strap. I havent used the other functions yet.

I have had two of these watches. Both developed condensation inside within about three months. They refunded the first one (though it was not simple to navigate the system, I had to phone Amazon in the end) so I bought another hoping it was a one off fault, but unfortunately it was not. The instructions say : WARNING: TO MAINTAIN WATER-RESISTANCE, DO NOT PRESS ANY BUTTONS UNDER WATER. But what use is that? It's supposed to be a water proof watch!!! I always had Timex Marathon watches before (I bought a load of them when they were being manufactured in the 1990s and they kept me going for years and years ! ) only one of them developed condensation inside (despite buttons being used under water) and that was only after a year or two of use. And they were just as slim as this watch (not like bricks on your wrist like the Classic Ironman). In addition they had both the start / stop and the split buttons on the front where they are easily accessible : MUCH BETTER. This watch only has one button on the front and the other on the side which is difficult to use when doing swim reps. Basically, had the watch not leaked I'd have given it one or two stars, but since two of them have leaked one star is the most its worth, if that.

I bought this for my husband who thinks this watch is great - not to complicated for a 68 year old to work out too!

I purchased this as my first watch for running and triathlon - it's super easy to use, has all the features, very durable and is great value for money. I often get asked 'Where is your watch from?/Which do you use?' and I instantly recommend this one! I've since purchased for my boyfriend and he's super pleased!

Its a nice watch/ the price on Amazon was the best I could find in the uk /Amazon sent the watch very quickly / the reasons i like the watch are it appears to be well made but time will tell ? / the back light is very good with a 3 second delay giving plenty of time to see the time or adjust/ it is easy to use and adjust all the options / its a nice looking watch. Things I don't like its a bit smaller than I thought / its more unisex than just male / slightly overpriced but still worth buying / a good buy for holidays ect.

I have had two Timex tri watches in the past, The last one I had for about 15 years and it was still going strong and still waterproof. However all the markings on the buttons had worn off and it was much scratched and looked very scruffy. This new watch looks really good and has a much more easily readable display. The one large button on the front for start and lap is much easier to use than the old two button system. If this one lasts as long as my last one I shall be well pleased.

I bought this specifically because it stated "Triathlon" and "WR100m", as I wanted to swim with it. I didn't get the chance to swim until after the first month had elapsed - what a big mistake! I swam in a small pool and quickly realised that the watch had leaked, as shown. I went onto the Amazon site to resolve this but as it was after the 1st month I had to go through Timex directly. The link provided on the Resolution page simply took me to a webpage advertising new Timex watches, with no link to Customer Services. Were they trying to tell me something? I tried the telephone number on the Resolution page - "Sorry this number is not in operation". So I went online to find a contact number for Timex and telephoned. They directed me to an email address for UK resolutions. I emailed the given address and received the prompt response as follows: "Thank you for your inquiry Please note we are currently experiencing a high volume of emails at the moment. Your email will be responded to as soon as possible. Please allow 24 to 48 hours for a reply." Four days later, I am still waiting for a response. I phoned the help line again (which is in the USA) but they simply said they would escalate this but as it was a Friday this wouldn't happen until after the weekend and then it would be.....24 to 48hrs. I'm not holding my breath for this. My advice to you - don't touch this with a barge pole

After using this watch for 6 months for swimming, moisture entered the display and a few days later failed completely. Have contacted manufacturer via e-mail as the UK contact number does not work. Although only made contact yesterday, still waiting on response as the watch is still under two year warranty.

Just what I was looking for. I've purchased some digital watches over the past year from Nike, Suunto and a few others and paid three or four times as much. I coach soccer and need a reliable, durable, unobtrusive and easy to use digital watch with a chronograph. This Timex fits all of those requirements and cost me less than $30. YES!!! I like that it fits well and isn't overly large. I REALLY like that the stopwatch is super easy to find, easy to start, easy to reset but not likely to be reset accidentally. And I REALLY like that I was able to set the time, date, etc; intuitively on my own without even looking at the user manual. If you just need something that works, this watch is an excellent choice.
