Waste of Good Money
I purchased these based on the recommendation of a popular cooking show/cooking empire. They definitely need to go back and ‘Test’ these again before recommending. I liked the ribbing and heft of the towels I received. I own a quality washer and dryer and have had no problems with items coming apart during the laundry process. Except with these towels. One side on each unraveled immediately - after the first wash. I did not use bleach or even soak them as sometimes a white kitchen towel requires to remove stains. So the fabric was in no way stressed and the towels hadn’t even been used yet. The fabric was great, the stitching not so much!

They're great - very absorbant
I bought a couple sets of these towels in 2012. They're great - very absorbant, don't shed lint, don't bleed color... I wash them very frequently and they've held up well for more than 5 years. Recently I ordered some more, but the edges began to fray within a few washings! Judging by all the similar complaints, I'm not the only one to have this problem. Perhaps Now Designs switched to a different (and inferior) manufacturer? The label says Made in Turkey. I don't know where the older set of towels was made, but the old towels are still going strong and the new ones turned into rags within a few months. I'm reluctant to try again.

Threads EVERYWHERE after first wash, black is dark gray
The quality of this was not at all what I expected after hearing ATK recommended this brand. I washed them as soon as I received them, and they came out of the washer (using their washing instructions) with seams busted and threads fraying everywhere. It looked like a kitchen towel that I had owned for 10 years instead of 2 hours. I cut all those hanging threads off and used them, but every time I see it, I'm just disappointed. I have had to trim more threads with each wash, not just the inaugural wash. Also the color isn't black black black. This wasn't even due to the washing, they were...charcoal? colored when I opened the package. I did double check the color listed on the package, and it did say Black, so I wasn't sent the wrong color - they just aren't very saturated in dye.

Very poor quality compared to past Now Designs towels
I have been using Now Designs Ripple dish towels for years and they have always been extremely durable; going through heavy daily kitchen use and regular machine wash/tumble dry cycles without any fading or unraveling. I decided to get a few more and was excited to find all of the color options available on Amazon. Of the first two towels that arrived, one towel did not even survive a single quick wash cycle without the hem coming apart. Given all the other recent reviewers who have also had durability problems, I can no longer recommend these towels.

I would not recommend these towels
So I ordered these despite the mixed reviews & believe the positive reviews are merely written too soon. I've had these towels a month & they do a good job drying (you do have to wash them before using them & don't use fabric softener). I washed them once per week. By the third wash they started coming undone on the edges & now a month later they are literally falling apart! This is so disappointing for the amount of money they cost & an easy fix if the manufacturer would just do a better job stiching the seams. I would not recommend these towels.

Now Designs Frayed Kitchen Towels
Pros: The kitchen towels are a nice size and weight. They are very absorbent. The toffee color doesn't show stains and holds its color after multiple washes.Cons: After using them for only 3 months, the seams began fraying on several towels. Finding a thread color to match and having to mend relatively new towels that cost $17.99 for two should not happen. The towels were purchased March 17, 2016 and were no longer eligible for return or exchange effective April 24, 2016 through Amazon.com LLC, which isn't a substantial amount of time to determine how the towels will hold up. The Sur La Table and Ritz organic cotton towels never frayed after more than one year of use.

Best kitchen hand towels I’ve found
We have been using these for years in our kitchen, and I didn’t think I’d ever find them still being offered, but Amazon to the rescue! These are the same great quality as those we bought nearly 20 years ago and are still using. They dry your hands well, then dry out fast, so no stinky towels, and they launder well and ry fast in the dryer. Nice color choices and the colors don’t fade much over the years.

The only kitchen towels I use
I love these kitchen towels! They are the only ones I use. No matter which color I've purchased, I have never had the trouble other reviewers have described with unraveling, etc. I have several sets in verde (green), bali blue (aqua), toffee (light brown), brown, and black. The brown and black towels are my favorite because they never show any stains or discoloration. They can snag, but mine have never snagged badly; I just clip the threads and move on. I wash them separately from other towels and dry them on low with no fabric softener. They stay relatively soft and are always absorbent. I agree with another reviewer that the black color is not deep; it's more of an off-black, but I like it.

Very Durable
I have been using these cloths for approx 4 months now and really like them; I have them in navy and red and have the matching dishcloths as well. I would definitely buy them again. I have a front loading washing machine and have washed them in hot, cold and warm; on gentle and normal cycles and they have stood up very well with no tearing or ripping (someone previously mentioned about poor performance when washed); they are very similar to the towels sold at Lee Valley (I have had them in the past) but these are a bit wider, a bit longer and just a bit thinner; they are very good. Stains release from them as well. Note: I have darker coloured cloths and not lighter colours such as yellow so I can't speak for stain release with lighter colours. They also dry very quickly too. Hope this helps some of you out.

Fall apart at the seams
Purchased several sets. One towel snagged and another came apart at the seam in one wash. They hadn't even been used yet! I never had problems with my old set of ripple towels, and I had them for many years (different brand). I can't recommend these, especially given the price.

Perfect
These towels are perfect as either hand towels or dish drying towels. They are not too thick and yet work well for drawing. They look nice out in the kitchen. Black is the best colour to not show food stains.

Prewash and dry
Like most tea towels, these are much more absorbant after a few washes. I ran them through with three loads of laundry before putting them in the kitchen. They are fine to start with but will improve a little more after a few more wash and dry cycles. The colour is a true navy as shown in the pictures. My kitchen is visible from my living room and I didn't want anything patterened or "kitcheny" on display.

Great absorbency
I have been a fan of these towels for years. They are super absorbent (which is really hard to find) and last for many years. Highly recommend this product.
