Length and width is important, and as advertised.
Broom handles are the width and length advertised. The quality is ok but soft wood, has the odd splinter, there appear to be a few holes that have been filled with a plaster filler, not many and small areas. However I will paint them to keep them smooth and the woodworms away, this will extend their length of use. This is the minimum length I need to do plenty of sweeping and to avoid back ache from bending.

The handle is softwood, not hardwood.
The broom handle is expensive for a rather mediocre softwood handle. Broom handles should be made of Ash. Ash isn't expensive, it is flexible and it lasts well. It is very difficult to get. Other hardwoods can be used but they aren't as robust.

God value product
Couldn't find a broom handle anywhere local. Bought this, fitted and used a lot so it's not snapped yet which is good enough for me. I spent ages tracking down hardwood type handles and gave up as this is more than good enough. Good value, good product and cheaper than a new brush.
