Never having used this type of thing before, I'm not really sure of the quality aspects etc so I can really only tell of my experience with them.I had a large yankee candle in a jar and found that it basically just burnt a tunnel down the middle so much was wasted and given the price tag of those things and the fact that I loved the scent, it seemed pretty criminal to just accept that. I thought on it for a while and had the idea to look for a new wick if I could find a way to safely melt the wax. Given the jar must be heat proof, I placed it on a tray and put it in the oven at 120 and kept a close eye on it. Once it had melted successfully with no cracks to the glass, I came to Amazon to look for what I thought I needed and found these. They're a fair bit taller than the jar so could wrap arou d a skewer to hold it straight whilst the wax set was my thought.Turned out I was right and with a bit of fiddling to get the wick to stay in the right place in the melted wax it worked a treat and I got another 3 burns out of the candle.The only negative thing is that I found that if I didn't get the wick placed down in the wax quite right, when I lifted it back out to reposition, the metal disc had fallen off the bottom and the stiffness had gone as the coating wax melted on contact with the hotter melted wax. This meant I could not get it to go back to the, bottom of the jar so that one was wasted and lesson learnt... no biggie, it was a bit of a trial and error thing anyway so....I'm sure there are better ways to go about it but that seemed like the simplest option to me at the time and it worked well enough for me

Burn down too quick compared to others I have purchased

Just what we needed to make some new candle out of odd bits of left over candles.

I bought these candle wicks to use up all the wax that was left after my shop bought candles had finished, always seemed a shame to throw away the leftover scented wax, now i save the wax from 3 to 4 of the finished candles instead of throwing it away, and make a new candle, it has tempted me to try candle making as a new hobby, much to hubby's disgust ( yet another hobby)
