Not quite a pro but it's a good value option.
Less than half the price of the Nintendo pro controller, the question is does it represent good value? It's a good facsimile, same shape and layout. It's a touch heavier but you'll only know this side by side. The battery seems decent though I haven't compared this exhaustively. The non analogue triggers are no different and neither feature motion control. Really it's just the twin sticks that differ. They're stiffer with a more rigid centre point, the nintendo pro has a smoother range of movement and is identical to the Wii U controller in it's action. We only have Mario Kart 8 and bought it so we could have multi player. For myself and by my 6 and 7 year old chaps it is our third choice and for some reason their placings seem to consistently suffer when using this one. Mine are far more consistent and like another reviewer said, it may be the numerous controllers i've used over the years mean i adapt to anything different very quickly. It is far a fraction more glitchy in initial setting up and it needed to be calibrated as one of the twin sticks wasn't in "neutral" but it's been trouble free since. To answer the original question, I paid £16 so it was good value. The pro ain't cheap so buying three to compliment the Wii U controller means big bucks. I'd buy one pro and two of these.

Great controller
Don't get me wrong, it's not perfect. The buttons require much more force to depress than on the official products and the control sticks are noticeably stiffer as well. If you push the control stick in a direction while the system starts up, the control stick won't work properly. But other that, its great. Not too heavy in your hands, it feels robustly made and is a good size. It connects seemlessly to the Wii U and has worked perfectly ever since. We've been using it to play Call of Duty online and even prefer to use this over the official Wii U Game Pad. Comes already charged so is useable out of the box but appears to last a good length of time on a single charge. For the price, I don't think you could do better!

Exactly the same of the official version, but half the price.
I have one of these and one official Nintendo Pro controller that was twice the price and I struggle to tell them apart! Looks, feels and works exactly the same. I almost wonder if Stoga makes the official ones too and they just slap a Nintendo logo on it and charge an extra £20...Don't bother with the official one unless you're trying to help Nintendo in their ongoing quest to become a profitable company, this cheaper controller does the job just fine!

Great, but missing one feature
Great controller. Really nice feel and for the price it's a bargain. However it doesn't seem to have the "shake" function that wii remotes and the wii gamepad have (I presume that the official Nintendo ones have this built in). This is only a problem when playing Mario Kart, but it gives me an excuse for having lost the race.I also linked this up really easily with my Mac to be able to play some old games on OpenEmu.

Avoid like the plague.
Awful. Bought a wii u controller and it stopped working in less than four weeks. Won't charge, turn on, light up, nothing. Waste of money. Did the return thing which to be fair was a quick response only to get to the final stage of sending it and it's a label that says I need to pay for postage to China! Really! Absolute rip off. Do not waste your hard earned cash.

Love this
Fantastic controllers own two of them and they are working still, despite being banged dropped thrown by my young boys. A must buy.

Great pad and great service
A fantastic third party controller. Solid build quality and virtually indistinguishable from Nintendos official pads.Furthermore, customer service from the seller was fantastic. My first pad arrived faulty so I sent them some photos and they just sent out another. Didn't even have to pay for the delivery, very impressed. These pads do come from overseas so be patient they can take a couple of weeks, but we'll worth the weight for such good value.

You get what you pay for...
Has this a while now, it's ok. Get what you pay for, control sticks really annoy me as there is quite a lot of play and stiffness (you have to push it quite far off-centre before it responds, and it seems to have forward/backward/left/right rather than 360 sensitivity). Not a patch on an authentic nintendo pro controller. It works though, charges fine and has lasted ok.
