Why can’t this generator be shipped to California?

I ordered this generator on July 28, 2019 and it delivered to my home in Northern California. Never heard or read anything about it being unavailable to California customers. It’s running as I type and powering the majority of my house during a power outage by PG&E. Very happy I bought it!

The description says Electric start, others say only pull start, please confirm which?

It has both an electric start and a pull start as a back up if the battery fails.

How do you chg battery

Per the owner's manual, remove the front cover, disconnect wires from battery, remove battery and charge with a commercially available battery charger designed for 9 Ampere-hour (YTZ10S) or 11 Ampere-hour (YTZ14S) 12 volt batteries. I would suggest doing this every month. I let this go up north and the battery went dead and would not recharge. I bought a new battery and then didn't keep up with the monthly charge. That battery went bad too. I gave up and used the pull start after that. I now have another 3000i and plan to purchase a charger/maintainer from Honda.
