Great swim fin
Great item, just like the ones they use at child's swimming lessons. Great for developing swimmers to gain confidence in water.

... my 7 year old the confidence he needed to enjoy the pool when we were on holiday
This just gave my 7 year old the confidence he needed to enjoy the pool when we were on holiday. He can swim, but is not a strong swimmer, but he was happy to go out of his depth with this on and it helped him to swim back safely. Plus, it looks "cool". Perfect, just what we wanted for peace of mind on holiday.

Great for building confidence
Love these instead of arm bands. Don't get in the way and are also great for kids who can swim but want to snorkle or use their goggles further out at sea

Swimming teacher recommends!
I'm a Level 3 swimming teacher from baby to adult and love these shark fins. Great buoyancy aid but also helps with learning to swim as the swimmer is in the correct position in the pool, rather than upright or above the water with other aids. Also looks pretty cool and children love them!

DANGEROUS AND NOT FIT FOR PURPOSE
We had researched swim / buoyancy aids in advance and from what we had read on the SwimFin website we had understood that the SwimFin was a well-regarded, researched, tested, safe item that would help our 22 month old child. Our child is average / slightly big for their age and already happy and confident in water (goes swimming once a week). We tried out the SwimFin in the pool - two adults supervising / holding our child. The SwimFin was positioned high up on their back (although it was surprising and frustrating that the SwimFin did not come with instructions for positioning or use). The next time there were three adults supervising. The water was approximately 1.5 feet deep (baby pool). At one point the SwimFin pushed our child flat into the water - face down - and its buoyancy made it impossible for her to get back up. Of course we pulled them up and out of the water extremely quickly. But it was a very distressing incident for everyone involved. If we had not noticed immediately we have no doubt that our child could have been seriously hurt. It does not bear thinking about. This incident severely impacted our time in the pool as a family going forwards. Not only did the SwimFin not help our child, it actually increased their risk of drowning. As a result, it is unsafe and unfit for purpose. Of course we are returning it to the seller. However we do strongly feel that our experience should be shared with other parents so they can take it into account when deciding whether to buy this product. We have contacted SwimFin directly regarding the above. Their very generic response completely lacked any acknowledgement of the issue or empathy for the experience we had. It merely pointed us to view videos on their website to "look at the videos to see how SwimFin works".

Dur Da, Dur da, dur da, da da, dur da...
We had one a pink one for my little girl years ago & now it's our little boys turn. They are the talk of the pool especially on holidays. So much fun. Although some advice, buy a rash vest to wear with it, the straps can rub under the arm pits. Whilst they take some getting used to, the childs arms are free so they learn to swim properly. They have to use there body more as it only helps them to float, but great fun.

I like the quality of this fin and it fitted my grand-daughter well, however, It did have a tendency to slip round a bit. This may be because of the material of her swimsuit and I did notice that some boys wearing a similar fin had no problems with this, presumably because they were wearing trunks and the fin was fitted against their skin.

Definitely better than arm bands
