It is wood MDF with plastic stairs - this really is a delightful dolls house the wall paper etc is well done and it easy to assemble - I advise assemble then give to the child! My granddaughter loves her house and plays with it often - I add furniture etc every birthday and Christmas

Barbies are too big, but my kids still played with it with barbie dolls!
