Nice and lightweight
I already own the Spear & Jackson Razorsharp Steel Lawn Shears however I have never really been happy with them as I find them quite heavy to use and they also make my back ache but it was only when I was reading a review about those shears that I realised that Spear & Jackson also made these which are a lot lighter and slightly longer. I have just cut the edges of my lawn with these new shears and the difference is amazing - they are so light to use and my back did not ache at all as I did not find myself stooping over and the blades really are razor sharp. My husband also tried them out and he too found them so much easier to use than the previous ones so I would say that these are definitely worth paying that bit extra for than the 'steel' ones.

Versatile & Sharpe
As expected Amazon delivery and price was good. Very shape blades and have used for the odd bit of lawn that my mower (or that is probably me) missed. Plus used to tidy up the edging. Iโm 5โ7-5โ8 and the handles were a good length, not to heavy to give aching arms. Very quick to get out and tidy up about 30-40 meters of edging and no need to get the electric trimmer out and disrupt my neighbourhood. Have bought Spear & Jacksonโs products before and tend to find they last a long time and are worth the higher price as they are a good quality product.

Better than any strimmer!
Having used a strimmer for edges around our back garden grass for many years and being fed up with the amount of line and combitrim spool lines we have gone through, decided to look for a viable alternative that would be easy to use other than reverting to traditional hand shears. Pleased to have found these brilliant (well known make) Spear & Jackson light weight long handled shears with razor sharp blades. No need to bend down either. Used them for the first time today as I began the Autumn tidy up of the garden. Great job done and edges now looking very good. Bye bye strimmer. Should have purchased these shears long ago. Excellent price too, with substantial discount on original recommended cost. Highly recommend.

Excellent product
Recently built a picket fence and because I used soft wood, I didn't want to use the strimmer near it for fear of damaging the wood. However, the grass beside the fence still needed cut. I tried traditional hand shears, but my back was giving me trouble, so I decided, after reading a few reviews to try the long handled grass shears. They are great. They are light weight, super sharp and do the job wonderfully well and, my back is fine. However, I have found that because the action is slightly different to normal shears, my forearms get really tired after a short period (10-15 mins) of use. I'm sure this will improve as I use them more frequently. Apart from the minor complaint of tired forearms, I whole heartedly recommend these grass shears. Spear and Jackson Razorsharp Lawn Shears

Handles somewhat short
The blades are very sharp and cut cleanly. The only problem to me is the length of the handles. I am average height for a bloke, but to cut the grass edges, I had to lean forward slightly. It was not long before my lower back started to become uncomfortable. Hopefully, I will only need to use them for a short period each time as my back is taking a time to recover.

So far so Good
Product nice and light, have only used a couple of times, so far. I'm 5'2", hubby 5' 8" handle length perfect for both of us. Good comfy grips on the handles. Used for horizontal use and great for cutting in awkward areas and at the side of the lawn, where the mower generally misses! I also have a separate pair of edging sheers to use vertically on the flower beds. These both save our backs and are a must for any gardener. As in another review, best to clean the blades with a bit of WD40 or something along those lines, to stop blade rusting and this also helps keep it cutting the grass nice and smoothly. Gave 4 Stars as we haven't used that much yet, but so far I can highly recommend this product. Good price too.

Exceeded expectations
These shears were a godsend when I found that my electric strimmer really wasn't up for the job of getting through thick clumped grass and weeds. These razor sharp blades made light work of it and are great for edging too. Lightweight but sturdy, easy to use and just the right height for me. I would definitely recommend.
