Very good for its price , it works perfectly.
Folks, what do you expect ? It is a Chinese grip with a symbolic price compared with the original Canon . A toy made of plastic, rubber and buttons. However it is very, very good. Fits the 5D Mark III, the buttons work perfectly, batteries ( even those replace ) are recognized and properly registered, feels very good in the hand. So, at this price, what more we want from him?I tried grips made of Photix, Aputure and Pixel Vertax, and, all they have problems. Frankly, of all, Meike is the best .But there is one truth ... if you have money for a 5D Mark III, you must have and for the original Canon grip . If you have not , take Meike, worth the price, and in the meantime tighten money for the original one. At least that's what I do.

the grip works exactly as the canon one would at far lower cost. it's plastic quality is ok and the feel of thegrip material is excellent. ive used it for about a week and so far it's a) saved me a lot of money b) worked fine.the tray being able to take aa batteries is great (although not tested by me).you can use one battery in the grip and it still works (keeping the weight down if that's what you want to do).an a1 product with no drawbacks in my view

Probably the best grip for 5D Mark III (PRICE-WISE)
Overall, I like this grip. There are few things that bother me though:- the plastic parts are cheap and textureless- the buttons also feel cheap, the AF-ON button and the other two next to it are so smooth that you can't realise which one you are pressing when in use.The joystick is little bit looser than the original one of the body - works OK though. My spare battery can't be recognised when used with another battery. Only if it is used alone. I guess it is not 100% genuine (although it looks like one) and therefore the problem. However, I didn't have such problems when I had the original BG-E11 grip.On the positive side, the rubberised grip parts are very well made and are 1:1 with the Canon grip. The fastening switch feels secure, the battery door falls well into place, the battery magazine is inserted smoothly when pushed at the end and the knob has also a smooth feel when locking, which leads to a pleasant use of the product. The shutter button is exactly like the one on the original grip - it makes click when you half-press it (which by the way I don't like - it does not feel like the shutter button of the body, but it should. Like the Canon BG-E7 for 7D).I give this a 4*, though my honest score would be 3.7. Still, it's better than most of the alternatives. And the Canon one is seriously overpriced and has some flaws too. At the current market, this is the best bang for the buck.EDIT: I've noticed a huge disadvantage. It drains batteries... I've left two batteries in the grip - one at 33% and one at 85%. After 5-6 days of no usage they were completely depleted! This automatically drops another star.EDIT2: OK, I don't know why, but the battery depleting problem doesn't occur all the time. I guess last time (EDIT1) I have left the camera set to ON, then it turned off automatically after some time of no usage, but it appears it still depleted batteries in this state. I am switching my rating back to 4*, but I must mention I am considering buying back the original BG-e11, because the back buttons are much better on it. Also, the price has fallen down - you can find it around 150 GBP used and 240 for new. It's still a lot more than the Meike, but I really prefer the more high quality back buttons, because I use the AF-on all the time for focusing!

Excellent battery and vertical grip.
I had been used to a (genuine) grip for the 5D MK II but couldn't justify the cost of another Canon one for the MK III that I purchased. Having spent a great deal of time scanning reviews I ordered this one.It was well packed and arrived within the (protracted) predicted estimated dates.Since installing it, it has been in constant use. It merges well with the camera, and performs perfectly.Once or twice I've installed the battery compartment to find that the camera does not switch on, but this could be due to the fact that the batteries weren't quite in place. For the money, superb!!

Afterwards camera start to lose the power in photo shoot and i have lost many nice frames during wedding time
Sorry but it worked 2 months for my. Afterwards camera start to lose the power in photo shoot and i have lost many nice frames during wedding time. After i send complaint to seller i have answer "Dear customer I will reply you on 2018/06/19 Because now is Chinese duanwu festival Please wait me some day. Thank you" It was on 16 Jun 2018 and still no answer. Nice job and good luck. i going to buy original battery grip from Canon.

Good but.
My second one of these. Other one lasted 3+ years and over 100 weddings.Couple of issues (but they dont put me off, hence why I bought another). When you have the grip turned ON, the focus position nipple (on the camera, not the grip) starts playing up. It still works... but sometimes when you press to move 1 focus position, it jumps 2 or 3. A little annoying.. but not a deal breaker really. Turn the grip OFF and it works as it should.Other than that - cant see any differences to the original Canon one!

Brilliant for the money. Brilliant for any money!
Looking at the reviews, to warrant such replies you'd think that this had to justify a high price tag as if competing with Canon's own. It's so cheap that really any comment should just read 'Why buy the Canon version'. Good plastics, nice feel buttons and solid connection mean this unit bats way above its league. Good to have the option of using AAs or 2 x BG batteries. The only thing I've noticed is that if you leave it and the camera on standby the batties are dead after a week or so of not using it. the Canon version doesn't do this. It's a minor gripe though.

very good product
Good feel and shape to the grip in both landscape and portrait orientation. Nice grippy materieal. Buttons all work as expected. I have a different make grip for my 7D with a screen on the back, but to be honest I never use it, so I'm quite happy this doesn't have one.Good solid connection to camera so it feels solid in portrait orientation, even with a weightly 24-70L lens and 580EX flash attached.I've had Canon grips for previous cameras and in operation I don't notice a difference.Overall, very pleased and would buy again.

excelente
