Top marks to Tamron
This is the first Tamron lens I have bought for my Nikon DSLR. Previously I had always stuck with either Nikkor or Sigma lenses.Having watched most of the reviews on YouTube, even those who are usually critical of Tamron lenses, I decided I must have one.I've taken a few test shots and so far it has come up to expectations. It's certainly a great travel lens, and also for my otherpassions of wildlife and aviation photography. It's not going to replace my Nikkor 200-500, but nothing presently on the market would.I've only just bought this lens so haven't had the chance to use it in anger yet, but first impressions are very encouraging. It also comes with a 5 year guarantee. : EDIT.... Having now used this lens for various applications, I can confirm it's well worth buying. It's let me take some excellent photographs using my D500. It is so versatile, and saves taking a heavy bag of gear around. Please don't ask me if it will fit your camera. I do not work for, or have any connection with Tamron.

Lens "creeps" after a year and it's then very difficult to use the lens properly.
This is a beautiful lens but it is flawed by a design problem that allows the lens to move when it is pointed down. I had this lens just over a year when it started to move. I photograph a lot of flowers and often use the lens pointed downwards. The lens is fine from 18-35mm but once beyond that it moves very quickly right through to 300mm. I have discovered that other people have experienced this problem and they suggest using a rubber band to stop the lens from moving. However, this then invalidates the opportunity to alter the focal length easily and quickly and to use the lens as it was intended to be used when it was sold. Don't consider taking out Amazon's extended warranty on this either. I did this and they sent it to a company that lost the camera that accompanied my lens. They found no fault with the lens and say it is a characteristic of the item. However, an independent repair firm would be happy to quote a price for this repair if I sent the lens to them. I registered a complaint about the service I have received regarding the extended cover but Amazon have not responded to my original complaint or my emails asking for any progress on this matter. I do not recommend the lens or Amazon's additional protection. Don't waste your money on either.
