Do the wall brackets run vertically or horizontally?

The brackets are two separate brackets, each about the size of a cigarette packet. They fit top left and right behind the heater (approx 4 inches in from left and right edge and 2 inches down from the top edge). The bottom of the heater is spaced off the wall by two plastic/rubber spacers which are already attached. Hope This helps, sort of hard to explain.

Does anyone know the cost per hour to run?

It all depends on the size of your room and how well insulted your room is. Also which model you get. A 900W model will use 0.9KWh so if your electric costs 20p a KWh it'll be 18p an hour to run. That said once your room is upto temp it will cut out. Being oil filled it will cool slowly still giving out heat. The 1800w model will cost double to run but will heat your room to temp twice as fast.
