Nakoma 88720 "Rit" Liquid Dye, Multi-Colour, 8 oz

Fab item help keep the colour when dying fabric as didn’t need as many washes to get rid of excess dye easy to use and good value for money

I bought this as I had to re dye my sons t-shirt after he had left it out too long in the sun and the sun had bleach part of it. After relying it I used this and it came up like a new shirt. he was very pleased with the result as was I.

They should sell this as a two pack with the dye as you do need this if you buy the dye else the dye will just wash straight out. It works pretty well at fixing the dye, you don't get much if any bleed after the first couple of washes. Cost wise though it does work out quite expensive when you factor in having to buy both products.

Great product, just need to have instructions in English. I had to look up how to use for colour retention.

Didn’t work for some red primark pjymas which kept staining my white bed sheets pink (despite having washed them countless times). I followed the instructions but it might work for other items, I don’t know.

Excellent product

I thought it was user error when the denim jacket I dyed using a full bottle of Rit indigo only gave it a light tint. I dyed an smaller item again following Rit instructions boiling water, salt etc, and used this this made no difference other than leaving me out of pocket. Rit used to be great to revive washed out denim specifically. Disappointed and returned the other Rit dye and this product.

Save yourself the headache and just get this if you are planning to dye anything. I used the same RIT dye without it and... never again. The dye never seems to wash out entirely and requires so many rinses that I felt like I was wasting a ton of water. The dye also does seem to wash out and fade pretty much immediately. I saw the color of my garment before washing and loved it, but was disappointed at how much lighter it actually turned out. If that is what you're going for, you can skip this I guess, but the amount of water you'll use rinsing is just scary. This totally stops that and locks the color in. The residual dye washes out super fast and doesn't leave a bunch of residue behind. The color stays super vivid through repeated washings.

I tried on 2 Ts and polyester shorts of black and dark maroon. It bleeds a little as described. After treatment, washed in cold water with a littler detergent and didn't see any colour bleeding.
