Furher update Nov 12th 2023 I used a different lead and controller I found from a old electric mattress fitting blanket and manged to get this homefront brown and mustard yellow heated electric throw blanket working again for just 1 night in mid October before it destroyed the controller making it the controller not switch on and obviously blanket no longer give out any heat at all and it back to being just a blanket. To buy another of these blankets now 12th Nov 2023 it will now cost me £69.99 which I cannot afford. Wish I could just buy a replacement controller lead for it, but can't see a way to contact homefront to enquire.Update - Purchased 22nd Dec 2018 received 24th Dec 2018 it stopped working June 2023. I have 3 other different company heated blankets as well as this one, the 3 others bought after this one. All 4 stopped working in June 2023. I cannot afford to replace them and desperately need them due to health conditions. I did not pay £70 plus when I bought this blanket in 2018. Then I paid £54.95. I'm so gutted all my heated blankets stopped working very end of June and my apologies 1 of the four at start of July this year. I have tried changing the fuses and the plugs of all of them and nothing works so they are all now only fit just as kind of weighted blankets. This particular.heated blanket was indeed brilliant when first purchased in 2018 and below is my original comment about it.Brilliant, love sleeping under this heated blanket. It does only just about fit my double bed but neither here nor there really as I snuggle up in it anyway. Only wish the plug attachment on blanket itself wasn't so heavy, and the controller lighter so it doesn't pull so much on the pull attachment on the blanket. Lead needs just to be slightly longer so it can rest on floor instead of pulling on blanket and banging onto the wood of my bedframe every time I turn over in my sleep. May put some bubble wrap around the controller to stop it banging bedframe, but can do nothing about its weight pulling on the attachment stitched into the blanket.

It's soft, large enough for two people and a cat (of medium chonkness) and has enough heat settings to go from barely-there to slightly masochistic. we've washed it a few times and it's held up admirably, and the cable, while a bit of a pain to keep out of the way when lying under it, is long enough for most applications. Couldn't recommend it enough.

Purchased a long time ago, it had years of use and is a great way to save money on heating in the winter. Controls are very easy, I think I caused mine to break by being heavy handed on the on / off sliding switch so I'm not marking it down. It could probably be fixed with a new controller but I just got myself a new electric throw in the end as this one got too worn over time.

Bought one of these and it lasted 6 weeks and stopped working so sent it back and bought another one that has lasted 3 weeks will not be buying another one

First of all, this is a very nice product. Particularly nice if you want a warm wrap without turning up the room heating. While I’ve given it four stars, I find the more critical reviews the most helpful, so without knocking the product, here goes.It is not, of course, a ‘double’ or ‘king’ size in terms of bed measurements. But it is one of the bigger warm overblanket throws available.The product advert of course describes it as utterly perfect; the leaflet that comes with it however is full of safety measures and warnings. Although many are there to cover the most unintelligent misuse (like ‘don’t switch it on when it’s wet) there are some that are borderline. One wouldn’t tuck electric wired areas of an electric blanket (into the sides of a small bed) but ‘preferably making sure it is flat’ seems contrary to its stated purpose as advertised (and will probably be ignored).Less clear is how much of a worry it should be if it is not flat, if it is wrapped around oneself in the living room and one is at the same time sitting or leaning on it.Likewise, a popular way of using an overblanket is to put it inside the duvet cover, so the duvet is on top (the throw is very nice to the touch but I still prefer good cotton next to my skin to sleep — and cotton is easier to wash and dry than an electric blanket). Being considerably smaller than a large duvet, placing it evenly inside, and hoping it stays positioned flat without creasing, is to an extent a matter of guesswork.Finally there was maybe a loose note in the box, I’m not sure, about how to detach the cord. It is not particularly obvious how this works.
