Hi As long as the laptop lid is no bigger than 38cm x 25.5cm it will be fine. But bear in mind you might need to trim it to fit.

Does it leave a sticky mess after removing it?

No its just like a sticker you would stick on a window , peels off very easily leaving no/or very little residue and anything left behind comes off with a quick wipe!

Would this be acceptable to use on a cerated patterned Toshiba laptop - Is the sticker thick enough to cover the indentations?

Yes it is thick enough. It was easy enough to cut to size too using scissors. I'm pleased with this product.
