superior and robust (using mine to roll polymer clay)
I took a very long time deciding on which pasta machine to buy and after much debate and a lot of thought this was the one that looked like it was the best value for money and would be perfect for my needs. I am not using it to make pasta and will not be using the added attachment that comes with it. It is easy to detach that part from the machine. I am using my machine for rolling polymer clay. It works like a charm and really easy to use. It is exactly the same principle as it would be for rolling pasta. It has a number dial at the side that pulls out and around and you can roll your pasta to the thickness you desire. I have used both the thicker and thinner options (goes up to 9) . For me the bonus is that you can easily clean it and although there is a booklet with the machine I never read it. I used a paper towel and using my hand on the roller dial I rubbed down the roller and got all the different colours of clay off it before starting on a different colour. The back of the machine is easy to stick your hand up and wipe around there and once again I only used a clean paper towel as I didn't want to get the machine wet. It stores back inside the box it came in perfectly. I used the tool that holds it down on the table by turning it and securing it tightly by hand so the machine doesn't shift about. It works well and help the machine in place. The handle for turning just slots in and can be removed again too without any effort whatsoever. It is a really great machine and I would highly recommend it. It is made in Italy and I would say as a pasta machine that it is designed to be is brilliant and works well for anyone buying it to use with polymer clay too.

Made me start making my own pasta again. (Lasagne, Fettuccine and Tagliolini model)
Like a lot of folks during lock-down I've been spending a lot more time in the kitchen. I love fresh pasta, but my skills with a rolling pin are sadly lacking. Had used a friends cheap pasta machine years ago and found it a bit of a pain as things always seemed to jam or fall off. So I decided to treat myself to a bit of a Rolls Royce machine. I could've spent even more on one of their fancy coloured models but the Scotsman in me went for the much more acceptably priced Marcato Atlas 150 pasta machine Chrome, Silver Wellness, version. Can in a sturdy box, with no assembly required. Went through the cleaning process and then started on my pasta dough. Once made and rested it was time to get the machine going. The process was pretty painless and I reckon with some more practice I'll get a lot quicker at it. The dough went through the rollers like silk, adjusting the thickness levels was very easy. The model I'd purchased was for Lasagne, Fettuccine and Tagliolini so I though my first batch should be fettuccine. Went through the cutters with no problems and soon I had a large bowl of pasta noodles waiting to be cooked. After cooking I made then with a butter and lemon sauce and topped them with some chicken roasted in Mediterranean herbs. Very tasty, as I'd made the dough with 50/50 flour and semolina it had a great mouth feel and it was all soon gobbled up. The next night I just rolled the past through the machine and hand cut the sheets into big fat pappardelle noodles. I turned them into one of the best dishes on the planet, beef stroganoff. Pure heaven. Since then I've been making coloured and flavoured pastas, using it to make ravioli, perogies, pot-stickers and all manner of things. Great machine, always seamless in use, easy to clean, has encouraged me to make things I've either shied away from as being difficult or just too time consuming. Yes there are less expensive machines out there, but they always seem trouble to use or get bad reviews, For me this has been a joy.

This is no impasta!
I love the look of this machine and really is a solid piece of equipment. It is high-quality, Italian-made pasta machine that delivers excellent results for homemade pasta lovers. Its sturdy chrome-plated steel construction gives it a durable and professional feel, making it a great investment for those who enjoy making fresh pasta regularly. It requires clamping to a solid surface and takes a little practice to be able to turn the machine and move the pasta through the rollers. The machine is pretty easy to clean and you can buy different attachments for different shapes of pasta.

Very Well Made
I read just about all of the reviews for every pasta machine available through Amazon and decided to go for this one-partly because of the claims of 'uncontaminated dough thanks to the light alloys used in the rollers'. Obviously, I have no idea if this can be substantiated or not but it certainly was an important benefit in my mind. Have used it once so far and it did exactly what I expected it to and it felt very sturdy. I watched a number of videos on its use thanks to YouTube so my first attempt at making pasta was quite successful. It is not too daunting a task if you do what I did and look at the various tips and different techniques on the many videos out there. I would have given this item 5 stars were it not for the fact that the metal logo plate (which they make mention of in the product description as being top quality) came off during the first use. It's no big deal but I'd suggest a stronger adhesive... The build quality suggests that the only items I will be buying from Marcoto in the future will be some of the additional cutters the manufacture-I doubt I'll ever need to replace the pasta machine itself because it is very well made. Now, does anybody have the definitive pasta dough recipe?

Good quality - fine product.
I bought this for my daughter to use with her Fimo polymer clay. I wanted something that would stand the test of time. So far, after several hours use, it is fine. Unfortunately, I doubt it will ever see pasta, but from how it handles polymer clay, I could see it being fantastic for its real purpose! We haven't used the attachment, only the standard rollers, but it appears to be of the same high quality. The handle did slip out once, but we soon worked out that it works best if you are square on to it, rather than working at an angle. It's more comfortable that way too. Pretty easy to clean, if a little fiddly to get the cloth right up underneath the rollers (it has a couple of plastic 'blades' that scrape the rollers clean as they turn). The clamp holds it to the table perfectly. Well worth the 5 stars. (Edit 17 Aug 2015) Well, it's now been used quite a bit more. It's still as good as it was on the first day of use. We now put it on a tray before clamping it to the table so as to catch the bits. The clamp is very versatile and easily copes with the added thickness of the tray. Excellent tool and well worth the money.

I buy my wife such great presents.
Since giving up work my wife has turned into a bit of a domestic goddess, (not quite Nigella but close) - and this bit of kit was just what she wanted. If you are someone who initially judges the quality of something by the weight of it - you won't be disappointed. Very sturdy and on initial inspection really well put together. Simplicity itself to assemble - the instructions don't even need reading, it's just so obvious. You do need access to a worktop with at least a small reveal underneath so that you can clamp the machine down - it turns out you also need to be slightly ambidextrous. The first try resulted in some really excellent 'Tagliatelli' type strips. The mechanics of the flour mix and what to do with the pasta sheets/strips after you have rolled them and before final processing/cutting - is really the only bit you need to consult You Tube for. It can get a bit sticky. The production technique is what you will need to practice - the machine does what it's designed to do faultlessly. The second try - home made lasagne sheets. Lovely. The only slightly strange bit about this machine is that you don't wash it. The instructions tell you just to remove any dough mix which may be stuck to the metal, but otherwise wipe it off and put it away. Absolutely no hesitation in recommending this piece of kit - tortellini and ravioli here we come 'eccellente'

Great pasta machine!
I've never used a pasta machine before - so I cannot compare with other machines, but this is great! Really solid, easy and very effective to use, plus, wonderfully shiny and expensive looking! It needs to be clamped to the worktop (we have to remove a kitchen draw to allow enough room to clamp because we didn't have sufficient overhang, but we figured that before purchase). It clamps securely to the worksurface without any damage and it's really smooth and simple to operate. You don't wash it with water, so I've used a soft, clean blusher-brush to clean the flour off the machine and this works perfectly. I'm sure a soft paint brush or something similar would be as good. It both looks and feels like a good quality machine - and since purchase, we've made a fair bit of pasta now! It's a great purchase, and why I didn't make my own pasta before is a loss! Fresh, homemade pasta - is so much nicer!

Great machine with great results.
Now to the product, This Marcato Atlas 150 is the design version of their original pasta machine. With that being said it doesn't no compromise on the quality of your pasta. I have seen a few reviews on this product stating that when rolling it sticks and rips the dough, and other saying that parts of the machine are flimsy. Well, that isn't the case for me, I am a person of high standards and this surely ticks every box. Contains - Clamp = this clamps to the work top that you are working on. When rolling thick dough this might be needed. Handle = This easily slots into the machine and other components. User Manual Pros - 1. The machine is very heavy, so you can decide to use the clamp provided or to go without, you can get away with holding the machine whilst rolling out your dough, but this might need 2 people. Depends how strong you are. 2. The rolling attachment is great, un-floured or floured, this does not stick, if it does then your dough is not ready. 3. The two cutting attachments are great, it cuts without clumping and it's very smooth. 4. Handle easily removes so that you can insert it into the other attachments on the machine. 5. The machine allows for other attachments, you can find a wide range of attachments on the Marcato website or amazon store. Cons - 1. Sometimes the handle will fall out of the turning mechanism which can be annoying. 2. Handle possible to long, I found that the machine has to be situated on the end of the counter otherwise the handle cannot rotate. 3. The machine came with water marks....maybe previously used? But still looked brand new.

A must-buy if you love making pasta.
Marcato Atlas Pasta Machine is truly the best thing if you love making pasta right from scratch. Rolling the dough through it a few times gets a smooth finish and the setting for having different thickness helps a lot when the mood shifts from ravioli to fettuccine or spaghetti.

5/5 ⭐️'s!🍝 🍜 Nothing beats Marcato. Authentic Italian design! 👨🍳 👨🍳
🔎 Overview 🔍 If I could recommend a better manual hand crank pasta machine, I would. But the truth is I can't. I can't find another pasta maker out there that has this level of support, this many attachments, backed with a 10-year warranty, and a near perfect design. All of this packed in a beautiful Italian design with great heritage. It's the Ferarri of pasta makers and it makes the best shaped noodles. This is the machine you want. This is the machine you need. ✅ Pros ✅ - Multiple attachment head options to make all sorts of noodle styles. I even made udon noodles with this! - Beautiful Italian design with a clean stainless steel finish - 10-year warranty! Who does that? - Smooth crank and cutters that don't eat up dough - Easily cleaned with a damp cloth and a brush ❌ Cons ❌ - Takes a bit of getting used to and sometimes will take a bit of strength depending on the type of noodle you are cranking! 📝 Overall 📝 5/5 ⭐️'s to Marcato! I will happily purchase this again once my 10-year warranty is up! The machine is beautiful, runs smooth, easily cleaned, and makes pasta noodles like it was born for it. The price reflects the quality and the craftsmanship behind the product. I would recommend this to all my friends and family getting into pasta making. I will never be buying pre-made pasta noodles again! At the time of review, the Marcato Atlas 150 Wellness is selling for $86.82 on sale!

Terrific pasta machine that is designed to last
There isn't much I can add that hasn't already been said by other reviewers about the Marcato Atlas Wellness 150 Pasta Maker. I purchased it based on the consistently excellent reviews and the fact that cooking schools use this model. I'm an experienced home cook but have never tried to make my own pasta. When I decided to take the plunge, I found that the Marcato Atlas is a "lifetime purchase", similar to buying a Le Creuset or cast iron piece of cookware. I chose the stainless model and I'm impressed with the workmanship. The only thing that would appear to be vulnerable to wear is the thickness dial for rolling the dough, but just about every reviewer on Amazon has reported that it has never broken. I made my first fettuccine last night using a basic recipe I found at Allrecipes and the pasta was top notch and very easy to do. The machine worked perfectly and made creating fresh pasta a breeze! My only mistake was not rolling the dough thin enough. Because of my naiveté in using a pasta maker, I used 3 as my final thickness and what I got was more like a Chinese noodle than Italian pasta. I now know that the thickness should be 7 before cutting it into strands. (On the other hand, I now know how to make a Chinese noodle for sesame sauce!) I am very pleased with this purchase. I know there are less expensive machines out there, and if you're unsure whether you'll really use a pasta maker over the long term, you might consider starting off with a less expensive brand rather than spending a lot of money on a Marcato. If you're someone who enjoys cooking, however, trust me that you'll love this pasta maker and it will change the way you look at pasta from here on out! From what I can see first hand, as well as cull from the many reviews that I've read, this is a solid piece of machinery that will last a very long time.
