D'arbo All Natural Black Elderberry Fruit Syrup, 16.9oz (Pack of 2)

This syrup is terrific with either sparkling or still water. I also spread some on crepes and drizzled a little over ice cream, but mostly I drink it. I used to buy this when I lived in Vienna as a student, and I'm so glad it's available here in the U.S. through Amazon. Raspberry is my favorite flavor of all the d'arbo fruit syrups.

My husband and I love the black current flavor. We fell in love with Cassis liquors from France. When we lived in Chicago, we tried various European black current syrups in the past at a fraction of the price charged here. Living in Florida now makes it more difficult to get the European product we are used to. I found this brand on Amazon. We liked the taste. However, because of the price charged here and overall flavor, we will continue using authentic French cassis liquors in the future.

The raspberry is absolutely amazing!!!

Love the flavor. Tastes fresh, not artificial. Can't wait to make spritzers with it this summer! Packaging was amazing. Wrapped really well in bubble wrap. The bottles are also very pretty in person. The label is textured and even though it's simple, it looks expensive. Also clearly labeled as made in Austria. Would make a very nice gift.

The UK has a new law that involves adding a sin tax to products with sugar in them so many black currant manufacturers are substituting ingredients to keep the production cost down so they do not have to charge the consumer more. It has resulted in most black currant sold in UK to be inferior to what it was even a short time back. Read the labels! So I buy this stuff because it tastes great, is full of flavor and works great in cocktails.

So far I've used this on ice cream and to make blackcurrant soda. It has a natural, strong, smooth flavor that you can dilute as much or as little as you'd like. Might try some other brands out of curiosity, but I don't expect to find anything better. Can't wait to think up some more uses!

We have bought this product several times, because we use it to make our own cassis liqueur. It's the only black currant syrup that is made with the actual juice of black currants, rather than with "flavoring." I keep a little bit of the syrup aside from the cassis for my culinary use, such as to flavor blueberries in dessert recipes. Delicious!
