It would be risky as its so sticky I doubt you would be able to get it out easily when cold not like normal wax it would sticky to the dish and if it gets spilled it's not coming off!

Which is the right temperature for best result? I've got the wax, tried different temperatures but always had awful results (too hard or too runny)

My heater doesn't show the temperature, only low to high, so I can't say what's the ideal temperature but I leave it just above the "medium" line and works fine for me. I noticed that when I have just a little bit of wax in the pot it cools down a lot quicker so I increase the temperature then.
