I recommend it.
I thought I'd write my review of this new fangled gadget I bought, I was a bit sceptical about buying it, but I am genuinely glad I did.Is it worth the £200? Eh, it is kind of pricey, but it does make some good meals.I've used it about 50 times so far, but haven't made anything too overly complex.ChipsI didn't bother making home made chips, I just used the McCain home fries and even the low fat oven chipsAll of which come out crispy/golden brownRoast potatoesFrozen pre basted roast potatoes (Aunt Bessie's etc), cook in half the time it takes in a regular, no fan ovenIn a fan oven, you have to preheat, which is 10 minutes, then cook for 45 minutes, so nearly an hour in total. In this air fryer, I shove the potatoes in, without preheating, and they're done in 20-22 minutes and they are crispy.MeatMeat, if it's fatty, can be an issue, not in cooking, but with regards to the smoke that comes out of the vent on the top of the air fryerSo fatty meats like Pork loin or lamb, can smoke out the kitchen if you have the temperature high enough. But it's kinda worth it, steaks cook all over and have a gorgeous crispy surface, if you like them like that. The only meat I tend to cook to recommended time, is chicken, chicken drumsticks take about 18-20 minutes, but the result is worth itIf you love crispy chicken skin, then yes, definitely worth it!I think my favourite thing about it, is it's so easy to reheat or cook things with minimum fussIf you fancy a bown of chips one night, for instance, you just chuck the chips in, 12 minutes later and they're golden brown. One issue I notice if you use something which has high fat content, is the fat either splashes? or spits onto the roof of the inner chamber, then finds its way down to the bottom of the chamber and drips onto the work surface below.

An amazing addition to my kitchen appliances
I have received my Amazon package five days ago, and I have used it every single day since then! I am more than thrilled with the new philips health fryer. Making healthy food has never been easier. I started out by trying it on some frozen thick chips I had in my freezer, and in ten minutes exactly, I hand the most tender on the inside- crispy on the outside chips ever without a single drop of oil!. I have tried making frozen Kebabs, home made sweet potato wedges, crispy fried chicken pieces with mushrooms, and all came out amazingly delicious and well cooked. One concern of mine when I got this was the time food might take cooking. I study, have a job and have three kids and I'm used to cooking quick.. so I was just waiting for this fryer to disappoint me but it didn't! Even cleaning time is not much compared to scraping a wok or cleaning a roasting tin :) I have also tried making my very own recipe of banana muffins and oats, and these came out perfect. If you'd like, try my recipe:I used: two cups wholemeal flour, half cup oatmeal, 1/4 cup pitted and chopped dried dates, about 100g chopped walnuts, one mashed banana, two table spoons honey and three tablespoons maple syrup, half a teaspoon cinnamon, half a teaspoon vanilla extract, two teaspoons (levelled) baking powder, half a cup almond milk (or low fat milk), a scoop of whey protein (optional), teaspoon of flaxeed (optional), two teaspoons veg oil (canola works great) and one egg .how? combine dry ingredients together, then add liquid ingredients, mix, then fill 3/4 of greased pudding metal cups (makes about 10)Cook: Preheat airfryer to 160. It takes ten minutes to make a batch of finer and protein filled yummy muffins. (They're perfectly cooked if a toothpick comes out clean from the centre)

Superb bit of kit!
This HD9240 is a wonderful addition to our kitchen. In short it cooks well. No air fryer will give you the true deep fried taste & texture that's a given so if you want that buy a deep fat fryer. But for a small compromise it does actually do a good job, quite close to fried without the fat. We've tried a number of things so far and everything has impressed us. This model is the higher capacity and higher power model maybe that's why it is better. Thick cut frozen maris piper chips from Aldi come out excellent crispy outside and fluffy in the middle in just 20mins. We've done somasas, kachori, chicken tikka, spicy breaded chicken (frozen) of various sorts, battered onion rings (frozen) and all come out better than our fan assisted double oven. It also seems to use less energy than our double oven (which is relatively low consumption in itself) as the element in the air fryer cycles so doesn't draw 2kw constantly and being a compact enclosure it doesn't need to stay on long to keep the temperature maintained inside. It takes about 1 minute (maybe a little more) to reach 180 deg when warming up which is super speed! The best air fryer for sure, pay a little extra buy this one if you have the table top space you won't be disappointed. Easy to use touch panel, set your temp, set your time press play, make a cuppa tea and wait.
