Great for tofu scramble
The media could not be loaded. Added black salt and made a great scramble for fried rice and pad Thai. Good breakfast too. Cook until crispy and tastes like omelette

Even though its Extra Firm it breaks very easily
It breaks easily, but in my opinion that's the issue with all Silken Tofu, but it's hard in my locality to find firmer tofu. After making a mess of the first pack I opened the top and the bottom of the next pack and it slid out quite easily undamaged. By allowing the air into the package as it slid out meant I didn't have to shake the package or prise the tofu out.It can be fried, just keep the pieces small, I normally cut a long slice through the block, then cut that slice into two pieces and use a thin fish slice implement to get it in and out of the pan.Makes excellent Mapo Dofu also :-), be very gentle when you stir it.Once opened I keep it in a vacuum container submerged in water, the longest time I ever have a packet open is 5 days and it stayed fresh by storing it this way, if you don't have a vacuum container, put the tofu in an airtight container and fill it to the top with water, then put the lid on.If it's not airtight put a piece of cling film over the top then put the lid on.

If you like slimy tofu this is for you
I guess it says it's silken, but I was looking for something a lot more firm. This is decidedly slimy and I won't be buying it again.

Texture
It's soft. You need to press it for a few hours before using. I haven't purchased a tofu press yet so use something heavy to press it (wrapped in clean tea towel) then it is good to use. I usually fry for stir-fry.

needs care when opening the tetrapack
I haven’t cooked with this yet, but once opened, carefully, it is indeed a very gererous block of silken Tofu, and a first raw nibble is promising. To open without damaging the content structure, which seems to have challenged other customers, do the following: Follow the cutting instructions on the pack and use a scissors to partially free the end flap; as indicated on the tetra pack. Then, use the scissors to cut along each of the two long edges of one of the two wider sidewalls. This freed side will then fold back, pivoting about the uncut end of the block and the tofu will then slide out is an intact silky soft block of Tofu, which can be sliced or diced as you wish

Soft
I find this tofu a bit too soft, so much so it seems to always break into small pieces when I try to flour it before frying? Perhaps it's me not used to too much tofu. It has a soft texture and does pick up the flavour of the sauce. Vegetarians seem to like it and it picks up flavours so it certainly isn't bad - just crumbles too much :( .

Why is it called extra firm?
It's great as tofu but it's really soft and mushy. I also don't like the packaging because it is difficult to open and even if it is opened carefully, the tofu near the opened side gets really mushy and it looks gross
