Rampage Cross Country 1/12 Radio Controlled Scale Monster Truck 27Mhz - V2

This toy was bought for our sons fourth birthday and he, and his friends love it. It arrives fully built and ready to go all you have to do is put the 9volt battery into the transmitter, charge the nicad battery pack and off you go. The truck is well built for this price catagory with a strong chassis and body (both Plastic) The finish is good with glossy paint and nice graphics. Operation is simple with joysticks for forwards, backwards, left and right. The controls are not proportional in that this toy has only on off controls for all function ie full speed forwards or backwards, full left or full right. This is only to be expected in a toy of this price. The size and speed of the truck make it better suited to outside unless you have a huge house as once its built up speed funiture can take quite a battering. Things that would make it better would be. An on off switch on the transmitter, a charger that has a fully charged light, an easyer connection for the battery pack to the truck (Its a bit fiddly). All in its a great toy for a youngster.

The truck itself is great, and while the battery lasts my kids (5 and 8 years old) love it. The antenna of the remote controller does not seem to hold very well, and an adult often needs to fix it. The worst part of the whole kit however seems to be the electricity plug / transformer. It lasted maybe for 2-3 charging times and then got broken and did'nt charge anymore. I opened it and it seems to be very poorly constructed and using the cheapest possible parts. I needed to solder to fix it and then tape it back together as the plastic counter-parts for the screws also broke down. Now it seems to charge again, but it gets very hot when used. Hopefully it lasts now longer... Please also note: When ordering to other european countries, Amazon does not seem to consider the different electricity plug types. This toy arrived with a UK type of plug, and I needed to purchase an adaptor to fit the typical Euro plug. An extra cost and trouble, but luckily I noticed this well before Christmas, so it didn't ruin the big day. At least Amazon could warn about the lack of suitable plug!

Bought this to share with my 4yr old son. It looks great, is really fast and has a good battery life. Its just about powerful enough to please, cos' you expect a monster truck to have monster power. It has a full suspension, but is only 2 wheel drive. Its very light, and the back wheels spin when you select forward or back as it searches for traction. It runs up a steep hill without loss of speed. The turning circle is poor, but then again when at full speed any slight turn will cause it to spin 360 degrees. This can be annoying, but at the same time is great for 'hand brake' turns. at £35 its great value, but if it cost more you would expect it to be 4 wheel drive and have a more powerful motor. Its for tarmac use only, grass is a just a small step too far. overall its great, but at the same time the 'little boy inside' wants it to be as powerful as the real thing... worth the price. I can only assume that the 1* reviews had a faulty truck, but i may be wrong.

I have been looking for a remote controlled car with a rechargeable battery for my 5YO son. It's like all the sellers and the supermarkets are partners with the battery producers and they are all working against the environment cause it's horrible to keep disposing them and they cost so much more than what the actual toy cost after a while! And the kids are not happy after all cause they can't play with it as much as they want as no one will keep spend a fortune on batteries. Have a shop around, you'll see it's hard to find anything with rechargeable batteries even if you're willing to pay a good price! So finally I'd like to say well done to this seller. You've got a really good product for a very reasonable price. Increase your selection and you'll be making a lot more money. Just make sure the next ones will hold the battery better which I sorted with some selotape. Thank you

I ordered this for my young son for Christmas. The delivery was very quick, so I was delighted with this. We opened it to check that everything was ok, & to charge the batteries. Then we tried to fit the aerial/antenna to the hand-controller, as per the instructions. The threading on the base of the aerial could not find any purchase whatsoever when we inserted it & it was supposed to screw in. There was a hole inside, but the threading seemed non existent (you cannot see this inside part that it screws into). Having read the reviews here & understanding that some others had experienced problems with the aerial, I was extremely cautious about trying to ensure that it fitted, but I persisted & persisted & eventually I got it to screw in. On to Christmas morning.....my son was so excited to see the "red remote control truck" - exactly what he had asked Santa Claus for. I warned him immediately to be careful with the aerial, and he was careful. But nevertheless the aerial bent at the very base within about an hour. Then it fell out altogether. I tried to reinsert it, to no avail. I could hear a rattle inside; I think the inner hole segment must have broken away. For a truck that in itself seems quite robust (it's hard to know, we only got about 20 minutes actual playing time with it) the hand held controller is shockingly flimsy. I'm so very disappointed, and I hope that Amazon will try to resolve this for me.

For the price I was expecting something of at least reasonable quality but this just is not good. After 10 minutes of indoor play a wing mirror had snapped off, a rear light cover had started to peel away and the other rear light came on intermittently. The wheels don't find any traction on the floor so the truck just spins around. Great for doughnuts but not if you want to drive it around. Took it outside on the concrete (after it's third charge) and had the same problem out there. That is until the battery starts running down, which takes 15 minutes. This was a Christmas present for my son who, after a day, is bored of it because the charge in the battery lasts such a short time and takes so long to recharge, and because it just goes around in circles. I will be trying to return it.

Bought it for my 5 year old. Much bigger than I was expecting, but it is perfect for my son. Goes quite fast, but not too quickly that my son can't operate it. Definitely an outside toy unless you live in a mansion. Better on hard surface/concrete, not particularly good for grass. Battery only lasts somewhere between 20 - 25 mins, but you can separately buy spare battery packs which are quite cheap. I bought two spare batttery packs, which allows my son (or me!) to play non-stop for over an hour. I ordered this through Amazons Market place, the original toy was returned, but checked and re sold at a reduced price, no box, but everything else was there, all I can say is I got a bargain. The truck is very tough, goes on the grass, soil, pebbles no problem, best from a full charge, but the charge last for ages. Does great back wheel spins, jumps off curbs, small jumps etc, even got wedged under my car on the driveway, very tough, charge last for ages, highly recommend. A lot of fun.
