Whiting 100's Dry Fly Hackle - Lt. Ginger Size 16 - Fly Tying

I have been tying for close to two decades. I've met and fished with some of the greats-- including Fran Betters and taken instruction, in person, from Lefty Kreh. I received this pack with hopes of tying up some light Cahill's. When drawing the barbules out with my thumb and forefinger, I noticed many stay mangled and locked in place. I'm already upset by the packaging because gone are the days of plentiful material in a package. Today, you get wood duck, hand counted, and labeled premium. It's disturbing. Whiting needs to step up it's game at this price point and the small amount of material. My advice is to honor the vendor, as there are not many to our craft; however, that said-- Whiting Farms....you disappoint me. I am thoroughly dissatisfied and will be sharing this info.

On this small pack of about 20-25 hackles I have more than I need to tie for two years. better than picking through a cape or getting less esxpnsive hackle that did not size to fly properly. From now on this is all I will get for my small flies 14 and under.

Buy a full cape, this stuff is great quality but not much there. I'd say 30 flies, not 100.
